Windows 7 - Different Drive - Doesn't Launch

I have Windows 7, 64-bit.

I copied the CCP\EVE game folder to the D: drive (as I read somewhere that it's standalone, can run from anywhere).

When I try launching it from there, the client launcher loads, and the Inferno splash-screen shows when I click Play. The problem is, the game never shows up. I see the ExeFile.exe in the task manager (along with a cmd.exe and conhost.exe that spawned with it) - but the game doesn't ever pop up. Not in windowed, full-screen, or an icon on my start bar.

I did the repair tool, and it said everything was fine.

So, how come the ExeFile.exe (the actual game) isn't showing up, displaying, and what can I do to fix that? Any help, please?

I had this same issue a few weeks ago, when I was reinstalling a new system. Tried it on a few other Windows 7 systems (64Bit) and same thing occurred.

I just made the assumption that the client requires a full installation now. That did the trick fine.

When I had a similar problem on my Windows XP machine I browsed to 'D:\Program Files\EVE\bin\DirectX' and ran the "DXSETUP.exe" this fixed the problem I had not sure if it will work for you on Windows 7 64bit though.

I guess it can't hurt. I'll give it a shot. BINGO -- that did the trick - thank you very much!

I have the very same problem. Yet I do not have "DXSETUP.exe" in the bin folder, only "DirectXRedist.exe" and it does nothing.

Nevermind. It is because I did not have a "my documents" folder. Now im all set.
