Reactive hardener mechanics?

So how does the reactive hardener work?

I am looking at EFT and you can set the different % of hardening levels, though I am curious as to how much it increases after each cycle? -(Does it increase by 10% of the most incoming damage after each cycle?)

No stacking (except against DCU's), starts as a flat 15% resist to all dmg types and it then "moves" resists to those which you are taking the most dmg from (up to 60%). This happens every 10 sec altho a new skill is expected to reduce this.

No Worries

I thought they didn't work? Do they even have a use in game yet?

What you are describing sounds like it would be powerful for a PvE tank.

Does the damage incurred vs shield count or it adjusts to only damage incurred vs armour?

They work. It takes a while for the resists to transfer but they are trully epic for longer missions/sites.

Also in fits where you use 3 ENAM's you can replave the 3rd for almost no loss (theres a lot of discussion about this point however)

Just armour. Also if you turn it off it resets back to the base 15%

Hmm...I might have to try one on my Domi for AE next time.

How long does it take to reset to the base resists once you stop getting shot? EFT doesn't seem to model this thing very well.

They only reset when you turn it off... or if you start taking a different dmg type....

Perhaps a foolish question but I am curious... If you are dual boxing or in a fleet couldn't you just have some temporarily shoot you with certain ammo say with a frigate and artificially boost certain resistances or is it only affected by NPCs? Would that be considered an exploit? I dont know if this method would work in Pvp really unless you knew exactly what you were going into. I have not tried this out yet...

you can manipulate it however you want, it can be used in PvP.... how useful it would be on the otherhand depends

Keep in mind each time the module is disabled (aka, if you cloak, or jump through a gate/WH/jump bridge) it is reset back to 15% base. This means that, unless you won't be moving systems whatsoever during your PvP. its not useful

If you max the new skill it goes from 10 seconds per cycle to 5 seconds. Naturally that makes it drain double the Capacitor, sadly.

Space. It seems to go on and on forever. But then you get to the end and a gorilla starts throwing barrels at you.

New Mechanic skill reduces Mod reactivity by 10% per level, so at level 5 should increase your 2 resists for the higher dmg type incoming every 5 seconds until max ability (bit low for BC/BS level imho but interesting for cap sized ships)

And also why it's uninteresting for sub cap: heavy cap hungry -witch you don't need at all already
