mods: if this is the wrong place, i appoligize, move or delete as you see fit.

got an email a bit ago, claming to be from "support@eveonline.com" thought id give you all a heads up, it actually looks pretty professional. the short version is this: the mail says that there is a character transfer to your account (name of "Solitary Angel"), and (from the letter) "If you are not the intended recipient of this character or are not expecting to receive a character, please file a (linkage to somewhere thats sure as heck not offical) petition to Customer Support."

for those of you interested i placed a (suitable anynomized) raw MIME copy on pastebin here


TL;DR: theres a new scam out there, have a heads up.

no thanks nessacary, just tring to put word out before some idiot says "oh hey whos sending me a new character" and promptly gives the GMs a headache, b/c they lost their account.

I recommend sending a copy of this email in a peition to the read customer support or in a peition.

First of all make sure you enable full headers for the email, so that the mail server information is shown. Then forward the email to security@ccpgames.com That is the email to the team that fights for account security and can work on shutting down the phishing sites, if possible.

ROFL, seems the RMT business failed to take into consideration the greed of New Eden residents. If we're getting something free by mistake, why would we petition customer service to change that?
