How to kill officer spawns without caps or friends?

Having recently restarted playing after a long time of inactivity, I started PvEing and not long after i got an officer. I was really surprised by the officer tank and dps... I lost a ship and i had to back off. The next time I got one of those spawns, I was prepared with a tank bs, but I still got owned. I had to resort to cynoing in a carrier. The officer tank&dps buff was a great nerf to many small time 0.0 PvErs, it has really limited my options.

Now, my question is, can any ship that isn't mega faction fitted kill officers solo? Or what 2 man setups can kill officers?

Depends on the officer spawn...i "solo'd" the lower ones with with a drake and a hound.

Do you think an XL-ASB Void gank Talos can do this?-not very sure but probably a double XL-ASB Mega (navy?) can., or simply Maelstrom.

Peopels approach to ratting: Lots of tank, 250-300 dps missiles or rails/autocannons in falloff for reduced DPS.

Real way of tackling it:

Fit that ASB you are talking about and 3x MFS II's, mwd into a 10km orbit, then turn off MWD and get into a 1k orbit.

Turn on all guns.

Turn on shield booster if dieing

Profit.

i think you'll need over 2k dps to break an officer. i popped one with talos and thanatos (a bit over 2.1k - 2.2 dps with my skills at that time) and it took me a while to break his tank. You just need to wait a bit for few cycles when he'll not repair and then he quickly pops

I used two buffer fit Tengus, a buffer fit Oracle and a Scimi to pop my last Estamel. Not two men, but I didn't have time to **** around with grinding EHP.

Here you can get all rats type tank and dmg/rep cycle/ECM/Damp cycle etc.

Actually with 1k Dps and 1K tank resist on specific dmg types you should be able to Tengu those. Lol

Killed several Dread Guristas/Serpentis Supervisors with bounty up to 9M and 12+ but never an officer, and those Supervisors are not a problem at all to kill even in buffer fits unless you have low skills.
