Are most incursion fleets shield tank setups?

I am trying to read up on incursions as I would like to try them, I only returned to the game a few weeks ago and have yet to try one. Looking around it seems that most fleets are all shield tanked, is shield tanking the standard or are there armour fleets out there as well?

If shield is the prefered method is it really that much better than armour and why? DPS mods?

I have been looking at the Uni-Wiki, Eve Wiki and a site I found http://incursions.nexsoft.de, are there any other sites that might help prepare me to try an incursion?

Normally there are armour fleets too.
Just be sure to be in a right fitted BS, T3 or logi ship.
Ask in incursion for a proper fleet............

You can get armour fleets as well.. The infamous Legion fleet is a good example, although I don't know how they've been faring since the nerf . People just tend to use shield fleets since low slots can be filled with damage mods, and they tend to compensate for the lost utility by having a couple of T3s or something. That's my experience of it anyway, try asking ISN in their channel ISN Secondary, they'll know a lot more.

In the beginning of Incursion site running ( a lil after the live events ) Armour had a slight advantage over shields in organization. We were killing Incursions ( in HI SEC ) once we got over the first hump in under 4 hours. Then the mothership bug popped up:
in the Kundalini manifest site the super-capitol would warp of then warpback in unless it got stuck on a wreck & NPC's ( unlike PC's ) become invulnerable at that point. I was in that MOM fight & fighting of an Invulnerable MOM & warping out affect an hour is no fun Ugh so we held o on completing the MOM site until ater we got some assurances that that wouldn't happen again
That brought the ground work for the farming agreements between armour & shields. At that point shield community REALLY
expanded & dwarfed armour.
There'sbeen alot of creative arguements why shields are more plentiful 2 reasons I subscribe to are:
1) People start trainning shield skills early do to the Drakes predominance as a PvP ship for lower skilled characters. although
Drakes low DPS despite nice tank too often lead to these tears in BTL:

2) In the larger sites the mid slot advantage of shield ships gives a DPS advantage to the BS's ( the smaller frig sights legions were king )

Thanks for the answers, I guess now all I have to do is track down a fleet to join, the incursion channels I found were pretty quiet last night.

Last night was OTA hell... at the NORGOH constellation I counted 27 OTAs 0 NCOs & 0NMCs at one point 6 hours before downtime
Armour channel is " The Ditanian Fleet"
shields are "BTL PUB" and 2 others that are more choosey ( elitists) about thier fits I think its ISM & TVP but I forget thier public channel names

All Incursion fleets are shield fleets. Except for the armor fleets.

And all incursions are in high sec except for the ones in low and null...
