Hi

Need some help

I have a MB that only has a ADD2 PCIe slot or a PCI2 slot, can anyone suggest a graphics card that would be good for EVE

Many Thanks

What is the make and model of your motherbaord? Only I've not seen a mobo that uses ADD2 PCIe for quite a long time. In fact I don't think you are going to find a suitable graphics card that would fit in either of those slots.

That card is not compatible with either of the slot types the OP mentions. PCI2 should not be confused with PCI-e 2.

I think Gygabite and other manufacturers actually have cards with compatible slots and integrated chips to adapt all the stuff, however if this is OP case he's better off getting another recent MB/Pross and get a simple GTX460, he can probably do it all for the single price of GTX560 (Get an 8GB DDR 1600 is also cheapo)

Having checked, there are options available to convert PCIe x16 slots to accept AGP cards, but to be frank, the cost of buying an AGP card sufficient enough to run EVE, plus the cost of the adapter and the additional future cost of upgrading again would be almost as expensive as just purchasing a new motherboard and obtaining a cheap PCIe 2.0 GFX card.

Yes that is what I was mentioning in the end of my previous post.

You can get a very decent recent MB+Pross for 100€ (Intel or AMD), 8GB DDR3 1600 +/- 50€, GTX460 about 200€ ?? -haven't checked any price but this seems quite correct and good enough to run Eve with no problem.

Yeah, sorry, my posting abilities are failing me today. And your suggestion seems spot on to me, the OP might even find stuff cheaper than that if he/she doesn't mind going through Ebay.

I would just buy a new system if I was you. for about $500 you will get one
that is way more than capable of running EVE and it would be easier to
upgrade in the near future if you still aren't satified.
