Camera angles

This is purely a cosmetic change!

Have the option to lock the camera drone to your ship, so when you turn left and down the camera is 'locked' to your ship so the world spins as you turn and you remain static in the camera.

Short and simple.

definitely adding more camera options would improve gameplay experience a lot without turning anything into easymode.
(especially automatic settings which you don't have to click every time, like "[set interest tp target] on [focussing locked target]" => THOSE are "advanced" camera options)

maybe the feature with the best effort/effect ratio ever seen

T-Up for more camera interaction. Whether or not your proposed suggestion would work - I'd have to try it out first before I can be the judge of that.

Camera navigation atm is a pita for people that a) like looking at their ship and b) people that are trying to make videos.

I would certainly like to see some options for camera angles, including action cam that focuses on you and the ship(s) you're shooting at.

i guess settings could be used to optimize camera angles for fleets and battles.

This is in the Features and Ideas area, of course its going to die...

But it would be nice to have, also I have always wondered, why you can't rotate the camera to look straight up or straight down?

(Side note, devs should be required to read and at least post a response to all the threads saying that these posts have been read instead of the feeling like they are being ignored)

I have lately started to make some vids in EVE and I would love to see more camera options or even a "FreeCam" so you could unlock your camera and just fly around so then you could get any angle you wanted?

still can't think of any downside to this. So very little implementation for such a great outcome... sucks to have the most beautiful online enviroment and never really getting to see it unless youre a cloaky camper with nothing to do all day :(


and @Khan I don't think this would be helpful as you can already theoretically get any angle you want (only the camera's movement, not it's angle are restricted if you put some effort in it). What would be helpful is to a) configure youre camera freely and b) configure what the camera does on specific events. Theres already that little things that we can set a horizontal offset, but no vertical one...
