Here's an idea for how eve could continue it's storyline in a very mysterious and profound way.

1.So, eventually the jove become extinct from the jovian disease, one expansion could involve "hacking" into ancient jovian stargates to access the now uninhabited space (except polaris, of course), and new advanced salvaging and archeological modules could be used to create advanced new ships based on reverse engineered jove technology. Also, some interesting ideas about genetics and bioethics could be presented, since the jovian disease was caused by the genetic manipulation so popular in jove culture. Then one of the ancient jovian motherships could be found (They moved the jove population from curse to their current home thousands of years ago, and were then reused to explore beyond the known cluster and defeat the amarr at vak'atioth) and in this ship some mysterious maps to new star systems surrounding the known cluster could be translated and new systems could be added (maybe they could begin to look like a spiral galaxy instead of a single cluster) and the blueprints for the advanced weapon the mothership used to destroy the imperial fleet in the battle of vak'atioth could be found.

2. Some isheaka ships (capsuleers that fight incursions) begin to invade Stain, and they find the technology that created wormholes that incursion ships could travel through to anywhere in known space. Eventually, this is reverse engineered and a method is discovered that could reopen the eve gate for a short amount of time. when this happens, A: the terran are found to have gone extinct thousands of years ago, and the empty, polluted husk of the earth and solar system is found, along with very advanced terran technology. B: the terran are found on the other side and are running an extremely advanced society that has been islolated for so long that it appears almost alien, and when people from new eden arrive, they are viewed as subhuman aliens.

i know some of the features discussed in the first paragraph would be hard to add, so just focus on the story for now

Good idea if anything. It'd take a decade to see this play out though if done correctly. Maybe even more than that.

WHICH isn't a bad thing, helps EVE.

Only con would be how do make a reserved engineered Jovian ship actually balanced for player use?

A Jovian frigate for example is the equivalent of frakkin several battleships..even at that they could probably take on even more battleships.
