Confirming that when I start the client and log on my Avatar, everything is I would say almost 100% as it was before this slowdown. Anti-Aliasing is off, if it is turned off in the settings, Making UI dissapear just add 1-5 fps because it runs on 60 fps which is aproximate framerate as it was before. CPU, GPU fans go on normal speed. All of this changes when I undock and more so after jump. More jumping makes it worse. After any of these actions, the anti-aliasing goes to high, and everything goes under low framerates. Again hiding the UI makes it about 30 max FPS better.

frame rates have become an issue for me as well... I thought I noticed an improvement on the test server, but did encounter significant frame rate drops when engaged in combat (even with only a few ships 3+3 drones), when moving camera while in warp or approaching station, and when docked + engaging with the market UI

graphics settings at medium
screen resolution: 1920x1200
I'm expecting ~50-60 fps (pre-patch)

the frame rate drop I encountered went down to ~5-7fps and held there for several 10s of seconds

Me too, 3 clients with quadcore G0 step with 6gb of ram and ATI 4850 1GB, almost lost my anshar twice now because client drops to 4fps. Its making the game entirely unplayable and is the result of the latest release. The patch has done nothing to help. Seems to kick in after i jump to a cyno or undock. The DDR sticks also get hotter than normal during this problem. Killing the focused client restores the other 2 to 50 fps.

I dont notice a CPU spike or excessive memory consumption yet when this occurs the whole system becomes latent. It is most likely a deadlock condition competing for dx resources.

SORT THIS **** OUT AS ITS DESTROYED THE GAME FOR ME and a petition when i loose a jf will be "nothing wrong on logs i hope you recover from the loss of your anshar now sod off"

My overall framerate seems to be more or less back to normal after the past few patches, however, I still have HUGE problem.

When I jump gates/undock, evrey so often my framerate just drops to like 2fps (on all clients). It doesn't happen evrey jump or undock, and if i quit the client that had just jumped/undocked, my other clients start having normal FPS again.

This is extremely annoying and it interferes with normal pvp activity, I had this happen once when my fleet was jumping into an enemey fleet, I had to relog, the game is unplayable at 2 fps.

Please fix.

And they also work fine for a while after launch, but i get a crippling slowdown. The slowdown doesn’t come with time; it seems it gets triggered after doing a system jump, but not every time.

As soon as the slowdown starts all clients become unplayable, and the only way around it is to logoff or quit the game.

Seems it’s NOT a problem with the hardware or the gfx of the game, rather something that runs almost every time i jump system. I say this because if it were a gfx problem it wouldn’t go away with a logoff with no restart.

The problem persists regardless of client graphic settings, cache clearing, toilet flushing, or incense burning.

Anyone else has this problem?

ArrowSmall update:

most ppl who are reporting this slowdown, also report that the VGA load goes down, as if the video card goes on idle mode. besides including your hardware specs also check if you notice the load/cooling/temp on your vga going down.

AAAARGH!!!

I have major LAG problems so i found this thread. This all sound very similar what im facing. All is good when i run only 1 client but when i log another client in game went so laggy it took 10secs settings page to open from esc button. Note i had both characters in same system. Lag wasnt that terrible when i reduced other client display settings. But when i undocked that alt my whole comptur froze like 15 secs. I didnt have any lag problems before this latest patch. I used to run 2 clients with max grapics and world of tanks same time with this computer. Its also pretty new comp so it shouldnt be reason for lag.

- 3,4ghz quad core
- hd4870
- 4gb ddr3
- 64 bit win 7

This really sux more than the stupid inventory did. Now i cant really play this game anymore. Except maybe with 1 char but whats the fun in that...

Edit: Also i noticed that when the major lag hits my cpu usage is only 40% and memory usage is only around 60%.

same problem here frame rate randomly drops to 5-10 fps from 60+ over 3 clients

Phenom II 965
12gb Ram
HD6870
Windows 7 Pro 64

fixed window on all 3 clients 2 running at 1920x1080, 1 running at 1680x1050

changes to the graphics settings do not improve or make worse the problem

Ran into similar issue and found perhaps a related item.

3 Clients run fine on 3 monitors in fixed window mode until I launch mumble. Then all three clients go from 2-6% CPU to 20-30% CPU.

Odd part is it is Eve's Exefile.exe that starts consuming CPU, not mumble.

As soon as I exit mumble, Eve is happy again, and all three clients return to normal.

Overlay setting is turned off in Mumble, is there anything like a -nod3d9ex switch for Eve?

Eve still effectively unplayable for me. I should mention that unlike a lot of the above posters, I'm not multiboxing, and only have one graphics card. So I don't think it's an issue with running multiple clients or multiple cards at once per se, it's probably just that whatever issue exists gets worse when you have 2+ clients that might trigger it at once.

Unless there's an emergency patch today, this will mark one full week of completely-unplayable Eve. :(

Im in the same position as yourself, 1 client 1 gfx card and 1 week of non eve time.

You guys should make another promotion "Power of 2" so we can buy more accounts and not be able to use them.

Can`t even log in 2 accounts to check prices in Amarr and Jita without getting choppy response from the game clients.

For what it's worth (to CCP): I normally play Eve in Windows, but for kicks I tried running it in Wine in Linux this morning, and exactly the same problem occurs. So it appears to be something about my video card, rather than my OS, specific hardware drivers (aside from maybe NVIDIA's), or any other software that's running on the machine.

I plan on borrowing another video card from a friend later today or tomorrow, and I'll see if that helps at all.

Id just like an update to get a timeframe on the fix, or it might not even be fully worked on due to it being the alliance tourney.

Well, I've cancelled my 2nd account until this is resolved. Just tried mining dual-boxing and I was going insane. When FPS rate wasn't at 5 FPS, both clients went unresponsive several times. Minimize one of them, and presto, 60 FPS. Grr.

With the tourny going on I doubt much if anything will get done. Yeah I know there's probably independant teams

Same issue for me. I'm running on an old Dell Inpiron 1520. Clearly it's not a powerful machine, but I used to be able to run my one account with modest settings and I had no problems. I don't know if it's been mentioned, but for me the slowdown only starts at a session change. So If I can get my hulk into the asteroid belt I can run for hours with no problems. But when I dock, undock, or use a gate to a new system there's a good chance the game will grind to a halt.

Same problem. Running a Radeon 7970 in 3x1 eyefinity, catalyst 12.6 Was running 90-120 fps with 2 clients open before the patch, now, 12 fps. It slows down the interface on my entire system it seems. Moving windows around the screen is slow as well.
