Freeing Slaves

As a Minmatar, it has always saddened me that there does not seem to be any way to free slaves.

If I blow up a slave pen and rescue them, when I try to get them out of system, I get a CONCORD hit, and the slaves get confiscated (hopefully to a better life as freed people). Why isn't there a mechinisim whereby I can set them free? Sad

1 idea on how to implement this would be a BPO for a "Care Package" (1 per slave) which would take some food (long limbed Roes, or something) water, cloth (to make clothing, bedding, etc) and isk (idk, maybe $100 or $1,000) to provide them with the basics while they adjust to freedom and find paying jobs. Maybe "freed slaves" would be illegal in Ammar space, like slaves are illegal in the good portions of the EVE sandbox. I'd still like to free slaves, and even try to run the gates to get them out of the hell they were living in.... As well as freeing any I find in other areas. It'd be a good roleplaying tool. It could be a way of escalating the friction between Minmatar an Ammar as Minnie Capsuleers go to rescue family members left behind. Big smileBig smileBig smile

Good moral education for youth to help those who are in need and in trouble. There is a great value to this.

Peace is the way of my war.

I wish there was a way to free slaves. That way, I could enslave them again.Twisted

Seriously though it would be a fun little thing.

There's RP reasons against this. (unless the Caldari lose Factional war)
Slaves are mostly poisoned with Vitoc (all on ships are), they need to be dosed up with antidote continually or they die.

The permanent cure for Vitoc poisoning being discovered is what started the factional war.

Kaalakiota (who discovered it) secretly gave the antidote to the Minmatar Elders, who then invaded the Ammatar mandate to free the remains of the (long believed dead) Starkmanir tribe. They succeeded in that, but were stopped from conquering Amarr by the new Emporess' super weapon. The CEO of Kaalakiota was then killed, by a suiciding Gallente mothership (there for peace talks) and his clone being sabotaged. Tibus Heth then usurps CEO, and he's a warmonger who hates the Gallente.

So Kaalakiota need to come under new management by someone friendly to the Minmatar (like before Heth took charge), which would mean disposing Heth (who's de-facto head of the Caldari state)

Well, that does complicate life a bit. Thx, Reaper, I was not aware of that bit of the back story, tho I was aware of Vitoc, and that it could be cured. So maybe a REAL expensive care package, or gotta get them to a clinic in Minmatar space before a timer runs out, the care package starts the timer and removes the illegality, and if you don't get them to the clinic and pay to cure them before the timer runs out..... "non"frozen corpses?

(Goes, joins Gallente FW) (maybe)
