Video interlacing problem

We're getting horizontal bars on the stream which is common with badly de-interlaced video - why is there some conversion between progressive and interlaced given the source is progressive?

I assume you're trying to reduce bandwidth at some point ... but the end result is quite distracting when you fullscreen.

Yeah this is pretty annoying. You'd imagine CCP would have no problems streaming HD as you only need about 3mb/s upload to get a decent 1080p :/

It looks like the stream is progressive, and the source is interlaced, and there's no de-interlacing happening. I say this because the holding graphic is definitely progressive, and it shifts to looking interlaced when you go live.

It looks like CCP are just broadcasting the wrong stream to Own3DTV :(

As long as I get to see internet spaceships blow up, I'm happy. Still, it would be nice if the stream was a bit sharper than it is...

CCP stop recording in Interlaced mode....

For every field(thats 2 per frame) that you broadcast in interlaced god kills a kitten and that's a lot of kittens!

Some people are very sensitive to this kind of thing, I've just stopped watching it as it was giving me eyestrain, which is pretty sad.

There is no reason to be trying to broadcast interlaced video as a progressive stream with no deinterlacing.

The stream is still interlaced.

I also notice all the matches uploaded to YouTube have the same issue to a greater or lesser extent.

Can we get a comment on this issue?
