Are amarr ships banned in this tournament? Because I haven't seen a single amarr ship this far in the tournament.

Amarr has 100% survival rate so far. One Punisher was fielded and lived.

This is normal - Amarr are susceptible to neuting, TDing, and aren't optimal in other categories like sensor strength, speed, etc.

The result is that most setups tend to be Caldari or Minmatar, some Gallente, and then the rare Amarr-heavy team that banks on the fact people bias racial jammers to counter the other more common races. One of the final teams last year did it with great success.

The exceptions to this general rule are the Curse, Guardian, Bhaalgorn (albeit its Blood Raider).

Need big buff to amarr ship...
DPS and Fitting for balancing with big defect in PVP (harbiger need very big up to fitting)
Amarr ship is very sensitive to neut/speed/bad traking/tracking distrup...
And shield buffer is too large (subcap).
Where the balancing.
CCP please.

I believe it hadn't been fielded at the time that message was posted.

Do you expect that more Amarr ships will be fielded in the 100 points phase of the tournament? Like... Amarr being better than others for fleet comps, but worse for gank comps.

I personally found it pretty amusing that CVA fielded an all minmatar team, they did the same the previous years as well I think. I guess they don't much do the roleplay thing any more.

So why are Amarr ships not used more in this tournament? I remember they were quite popular in previous ones.

Well, Cyclone/Sleipnir teams seem to be pretty common. Minmatar T2 native resists make bringing Amarr ships an exercise in futility, especially with the limited amount of points in qualifiers. I'm thinking we'll see more of them in the last two weekends, like always.

Yeah, the big thing your comp has to counter (unless you have a meta advantage with spies, etc.) is Minmatar Rush. It's actually worse this year, because last year Sabres were the hotness and those have pretty **** resists vs. lasers, whereas now the Jaguar is fielded instead and it has awesome laser resists.

Speaking as a theorycrafter there is one thing missing from the vast majority of Amarr ships. DPS.

Amarr has some fantastic ships but it has a supporting cast of some very slow very tanky low DPS ships.

Oh and damage types.
