I understand burn jita. But I'd imagine it would still take quite the alpha fleet to get one. How common is this?

As the Kingpin of C&P, freighters only get suicide ganked at my command [and elite coordination due to leading prowess].

usually they need multiple billions in loot inside to even attract interested gankers... then again the other night funkybacon and some eve radio listeners ganked a freighter at random.

Freighter ganking is not common. There are a few issues, getting a freighter pilot with enough loot to be worth ganking, which is going to take a few billion in cargo and most pilots know this and will probably keep it under what it be profitable to gank. And than the logistics of getting the people together in the hope of finding said pilot who is worth ganking.

Welcome to Eve. Everyone here is an Evil Sick Sadistic Bastard who is out to get you. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either trying to scam you or use you.

its not common at all. the cargo load needs to actually be worth it, no pirate corp will risk a few bill ISK for a killmail and loot not worth several billion ISK.

EVE is like swimming on a beach in shark infested waters,  There is however a catch...  The EVE Beach you also have to wonder which fellow swimmer will try and eat you before the sharks.
