I know there has been other discussions about this before but I thought I would bring it up again. Living in a WH for a a few years ive come across thousands of floating space junk in the form of towers, anchored cans and POS modules just wasting away. The whole mechanics for abandoned POS's is definitly flawed. You would think that CCP would want this stuff cleaned up so the servers wouldnt have to keep track of it so why not make it easer to take or destroy? If a tower is out of fuel, all the mods should be free to take without having to destroy the tower or make the tower at a degrated state where you wouldnt have to shoot thru 20k worth of Hit Points, nobody wants to sit there and do that unless someone left a fewe SMA's or Corp Hangers. I have heard some past discussion about the status of abandoned towers over a time period for instance, after a certain time it would be degreated, then move to an even further degrated state and then eventually going offline and able to be scooped up. Has this ever really been addressed by CCP and are there any plans to changes these rules in the future?

I made a thread that disappeared behind silly requests about altering hacking to allow one to hack and take control of or at least unachor a POS that has been unfueled for a certain time frame. repowering the POS would cause it to assume control of the nearby modules and assign them to the control of the new owners.

As it is Hacking(the skill and the module) need to get more uses anyway.

Good idea, but you know CCP, it will be a whole new skill, Tower Hacking!

Even that would honestly be acceptable, And it would add a new layer to taking systems out in 0.0. a POS can only hold so much fuel. Wipe out the defenders, and siege the gates, as the towers go dark then someone hacks them. Now you not only took their stations but you just did it without having to bring new ones in. Naturally of course siege and hack would take far longer than blow up and replace.

Everything POS related is changing. While your idea might be viable at some level, I think it's just as easy to shoot them down. These two things mean you're likely to not see any change to this at this time.
