Affecting market pricing based on standings (aka the douche tax)

Greetings,

In my current corp deployment we took over a deserted station in the arse end of no where. This little slice of backwater was perfect for our needs, and we have started to thrive our here.

There was however a slight snag in our takeover, besides the NPC seeded goods there was only a 14bil frigate on the market, left months ago in a poorly thought out way to scam a poor shmuck. Seriously, 14 bil?

Anyway, this wasn't an issue since I'm basically a complete station market on wheels, and after a night of jump freighter shenanigans, a fully fledged market was installed and things went on according to the plan.

Well, almost. In my hurry to vomit a mind boggling array of ships, mods and ammo, and with the intention of allowing my corpies access to stuff at Jita +not much pricing, I kinda inadvertantly set up a market hub that apparently many people found alluring, and soon I was getting many customers braving the 10 jumps of PvP infested space to get my goods.

On the one hand I'm making modestly good cash out of this, nothing to brag about but certainly more than enough to cover my time. On the other, I'm now bogged down in a never-ending pattern of checking what's been put out of stock and making sure it's replaced.

My interim solution is now to jack up the pricing to bring it more in line with regional average, if not a smudge more, and do daily manual refunds to my corpies so that my original promise of Jita +not much.

However, this made me think a bit about the market system. I do have complete ships available via intra-corporate contracts, however I'm adverse to list items individually like this because a) the contract interface is no where as good as the market interface, and b) relisting stuff every 14 days seems like a major drag.

I was day dreaming about a seperate market for in-corp use only, but tracking two sets of orders (or looking for them in two places) didn't appeal to me. Having to sets of stock either. While I was updating stuff in my research POS, it hit me, standings.

What I think could be an interesting feature:
Allow players to set automatic rebates for other people, based on standings.

This way, no complicated shenanigans with contracts. No overly redundant additions to the game, just a single item price modified by how loved or hated you are by the person listing it.

(excuse my horrible mspaint mockup, I just wanted to give you an idea of what I'm going for)

Imagine, being able to stuff a local market full of (near-) free ship replacements without being contrained by exact fits. Offering rebates to corpmates, alliance buddies or just preferred clients.

Imagine also being able to deny (via a +99999999% hike) the ability to locally resupply to your opponents, or just tack on a douche tax to that guy why always mouth breathes on TS during ops.

Come on, you know this would make a nifty addition to the game!

But, in case this is too complicated to implement, being able to set market orders to corp/allaince/non-reds only would be an interesting middle ground.

Thoughts?

And as a quick addendum, this could also apply to NPC orders. I know money knows no creed and all, but after slaughtering countless Gallente soldiers I could understand why the NPC corps want to tack on a little something to flip me the bird.

'Might also kickstart the seeding of faction specific (ie blueprints and the rest) items by players, elsewhere than just the trade hubs.

cool stuff. I like. would be even more awesome if it's really called "douche tax".

Another twist on the same principle would be a "do not sell list", which could be based on standings once more.
