yes there most definitely are rules and "you should pay for ships you get blown up yourself" is very definitely not one of those and the things I listed are definitely rules, these aren't debatable and you will get banned if you break the rules I listed and you will never be banned if you "break" the one that's not a rule

what is and is not an exploit can be a grey area in edge cases but you don't even understand the difference between how the game works and how you want it to work

and i am still waiting on the details of your internet psychiatric diagnosis, make with it

All I know is that you're acting hyper sensitive and defensive about the topic. I made a post where that was just a minor note that although I think we should keep insurance as is, I wouldn't have a problem with CCP closing that loophole, and then you went off yelling out insults at everybody and talking about how much smarter you are than everybody and insisting that it wasn't your corp, it was other corps, benefiting from the loophole, and blah blah blah... Kind of a crazy way to conduct yourself, so something is up...

Like a page or two ago you said I was the poster who claimed that losing my ship is automatically an exploit, but it turned out you just made that up... Keep up the display of how little you know about EVE mechanics. Insurance only covers a tiny fraction of what a Hulk or Mack actually cost which is precisely why ganking those makes any sense in the first place.

Not having insurance will hurt PvP types orders of magnitude more than PvE types.


My point is that new players will be easier to grief. In fact it will become possible to completely grief them.

Yeah, ok. Fair point. We're getting sucked into petty stuff.

On the OP, I stand by my view that in general insurance is about right. Increase the death penalty and people will be even more reluctant to engage in pvp. Decrease it and you'll lose some of the sense of investment in the outcome of things. If it needs adjustment, I would look at situations where it is too low to facilitate pvp (maybe t2 ships for example) or situations where it is too high to create a sense of investment (maybe suicide ganking). But overall I think it is about right.
