at least they use the full palette of proto stories. comics = pointless battle that will end inconclusively + some sort of familial drama + 14 different universes so they can use the same storyline with slightly different characters and endings.

i've always wondered. you see these guys blasting each others with various rays and powers but no one is outright destroyed, ripped apart, or vaporized. Why hasn't anyone just suffocated Wolverine? You can't regenerate that.

When you can regenerate your brain there is no death. Pretty much all forms of death come down to brain damage.

Also, the plot you envisioned works for the bulk of fiction. And much of biography. Other than the universes.
