Have headlights? It's not like most systems are actually dark. Not to mention they only light up a very small area in front of your ship.

I say we should be allowed to get super bright headlights to blind our foe going into combat.

As a pilot your actually looking around your ship with camera drones, intense light could damage those.

Eh who am I kidding, bad joke I know.

Without them, my Cyclone wouldn't look like a train.

And that's unacceptable.

Its not the headlights that worry me... its the blatant disregard of indicators...

I was cut off by some damn hoodlum in a Rifter at the Jita undock... he was driving crazy...

Only after we can achieve ramming speed in the Phantasm or Rupture to finish off enemies in structure.

My guess is its to distinguish yourself to other pilots in the area to avoid mid-space collisions since Space Traffic Control tends to suck.

Minmatar ships use LADAR sensors. I assumed thats what the light on the front of the Cyclone and Thrasher was for... and that the vanes many people call 'solar panels' are part of the LADAR system too.

I thought it was because everyone has silly aviator glasses or welding goggles on and need the light to find their ship in the hangar

It's a cold, dark universe.

You will also notice radiators installed in your cockpit.

Same reason modern day ships have lights? So other ships can quickly identify your ship type and direction of travel? Lights are the reason you show up on grid when you're out of radar range I'd say.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

Headlights? What about how there appears to be lighted decks. Is that so I can find my way to the head? And if the ship is built just for me, do I even need decks at all? Am I expected to be jogging, eating my space food and playing chess while I'm in there? That's a waste of capacitor I think. These ship designers don't know what they are doing.
