How many people are going to change their habits because of ISD?

Because of today's event, I would like to see how many people are planning on changing their forums habits, and if so, how. Are you going to deliberately spam people's thread to try to get it locked, take the new changes in stride and try to avoid the lock, continue as you were. I ask because it seems as though some people got rather mad, and rather than look at what happened earlier, let's try and look ahead to what this will mean in the short to mid term.

It's cap trying to clean up the utter crap on these forums.

Alas, what they should do is start doing three month bans as well as locking

What was today's event? All I see is a bunch of locked useless threads and a whole lot of new, also useless threads.

Some guy asked why he could not tuck in his dress shirt in the character creator. His thread got locked for "lacking content", and people got pissed, and then ISD started to copy paste one of three things: No content, don't discuss forum moderation on the forums, and don't insult CCP employees. They would then lock the thread, meaning we could not discourse about the topic, because that would obviously be discussing forum moderation on the forum, which is a no-no.

Seriously? This all started because of a ******** thread about a shirt? That's it?

Hmm... looks like tucking is under top options.

Isn't that under the belt options? At the bottom.

I don't know, seeing as I can't go ingame to look at the moment, nor do I have any dress shirts. Now that you say it I hope the original guy comes in here to see, and then he can tell us once and for all/

I posted that thread.

I found an answer. Its actually a pants option not a shirt option. =D

I'm gonna keep posting the way I normally do. Which involves genuine affection for CCP and EvE (which means I'll probably rag on both ocassionally-all the time), making fun of stupid people, and a not-so-thinly veiled contempt of the quality moderation that certain ISDs perform here.

On occasion, I get lucky and stumble upon cleverness. That usually feels nice.

Of course, if the ISD Stensson gets his way, I'll probably get a vacation instead.

What was it, the 3rd locked thread on the topic that finally got you the answer?

This. THIS SO MUCH. I love eve and ccp. I have been to all of their PAX parties and chated with several generations of eve devs. All i have spoken with have been wonderfully candid about eve and i will always support them. But they need reminding that not everyone has an opportunity to sit down over drinks with them. The forum is very important and people need to know that they are actively listening.

So one guy goes a little nuts with a thread lock and suddenly it's L.A. 1992 all over again?

Did someone get some video of this merciless and unwarranted thread locking?

none of this is new and has been being done here for years

And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit.

Chribba did. Over at EvE-Search.

Wonder if he can give us metrics on Stensson's locking/editing habits.

There's a simple solution here. If CCP cannot figure out a way to tolerate discussion - take it out of CCP. They won't have to mod it and we all can worry less about what we type. I'm sure there are plenty of public forums available.
