Article 19 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights states that "[e]veryone shall have the right to hold opinions without interference" and "everyone shall have the right to freedom of expression; this right shall include freedom to seek, receive and impart information and ideas of all kinds, regardless of frontiers, either orally, in writing or in print, in the form of art, or through any other media of his choice"

While these forums are not subject to international law, they have in the past proven to be enormously beneficial in protecting [company redacted] from itself. Without a free and open exchange of ideas on the forum, things like the Jita Protests wouldn't have been large enough to catch enough attention to cause a change. The Summer of Rage would have been the summer of Quiet unsubs leading to the Fall of disappointment and the Winter of trying to keep the lights on.

I understand that the Summer of Rage was distressing and embarrassing, but without it, the third largest paid western MMO on the market would have quietly died while it's owner sat around without a clue.

Now, companies certainly have a history of overreacting to censor embarrassing facts (Hi, Kugutsumen), but that doesn't have to continue.

There is a difference between pointing out that the Emperor isn't wearing any clothes and trying to play Brutus to Julius Caesar. I think most people around here can tell the difference, and can tell when the Emperor's yelling at the kid who's told him he was naked. And a naked guy yelling at a little kid doesn't look very good.

tl;dr Censorship sucks, Free Speech is good.

Are you saying you like seeing naked men yell at little kids?

Perhaps people could use the threads designed for feedback instead of making a new one for themselves? I know everyone has to be special, and perhaps your rant will be missed in the 78 pages of other rants, but I'm sure some poor intern has to read all of them.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.
