Everybody remembers the first moment eve became enjoyable for some it was that first massive fleet fight for others it was that first big industry related profit rolling in, That is gone now it wont be coming back and if you are spending your time trying to recreate that exact moment you are wasting your time.

For better or worse Eve changes every day empires rise and fall your trusted friends screw you over or come to your aid when you most need them.

Before we log in we have no idea how things will unfold Exactly the same thing takes place with major patches and game play changes your favourite Isk facet closes and that ship you liked so much gets a bad paint job ( I am looking at you Vagabond ) but that got me thinking this is exactly why I play Eve.

I simply have no idea how things are going to unfold and for that exact reason I gave up trying to find the "perfect" game play experience because for me at least that is no longer what Eve is about, every day I log in and go find some war targets with my corp/militia/alliance mates and I just have no clue how things will go maybe we get in on some good kills or perhaps we get our asses handed to us instead, its why I am here and its why you should be too.

If you are unhappy with how things are going change corps or change races or change your attitude to the game as a whole if you stop trying to find the "perfect' game play balance you will soon find out that the game you know and love still exists just in another form

one that will no doubt change tomorrow.

My solution: swap DUST for Planetside 2. (PS3, SOE, it's all Sony, right?) Planetside 2 should slake the PvP lite, minimal consequences and little downtown crowd's thirst. When you want Heavy-It-Hurts-to-Lose PvP, you jump back into Eve. When you want to PvE, you run level 4s. When you want to RMT, you join a large null-sec alliance in Eve. When podding someone isn't personal enough, you kill them in Planetside 2 and teabag their corpse.

It would be Win, Win, Win, Win, Bacon, and Win for everyone.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

Your thread title is at complete odds with its contents. I find happiness in the company of others every day in EVE, which is how it should be. It is the people that make this a great place to be, not the content. The content is just a medium in which we all co-exist.

...and why you should, too.
