Having recently moved to nullsec I am not looking for some pvp ships. I have a drake but would like to fly something smaller and cheaper until I learn to pvp.

What are some good caldari pvp ships(mainly frigates)?
For:Solo,Small gang and fleet. I am using missiles btw.

Poor you. Caldari generally sucks for PvP... Either whole fleet use missiles or you are useless.

Interceptors are good... Raptor (Fleet), Rook (Fleet and Solo)... Thier damage is irrelevant for fleets, but they can point and work like interceptor.

Interdictor is ok, Flycatcher (Fleet and Solo Limited), you can fit both double bubble and single bubble version and is cheaper as Sabre.

ECM is much less used today, but Falcon (Gang) is still not bad for small gangs. However it is cruiser already.

Some people play with Assault Frigates, but I have no experience with those, I am considering frigate class in general for useless ****, aside of points.

You might look for Stealth Bombers as well... Good for fleets, SB gangs and some use them even for solo killing.

Best advice is to train either Amarr or even better Minmatar...

Actually they recently changed the Merlin and it can actually hold it's own against a Rifter.

Yeah I've actually been thinking about cross training minmatar ships but will the new inferno 1.1 update make this difficult? Also do you think the new update will make Caldari ships better in pvp?

The Merlin and the Kestrel are great PvP frigs and the Caldari Navy Hookbill is the best navy faction frig there is.

What tha?? -U mad bro?

Raptor

Hawk/Blarpy solid ships and always usefull in whatever fleet or gang

Flycatcher, hell try an Eris and then come back say'in Flycatcher is crap

Caracal, always moar caracals to murder assault/ceptors/dictors, hell Navy Caracal is just a pure assassin for those

Drake? -do I really need to mention Drake?

Naga?

Rokh?

Scorpion?

Bomber?

EAF?

Logi?

Heavy dictor?

T3?

Reccon? -what??? because Falcon??

How dare you to say Calamari are worthless?-not only those have very decent ships in many many categories but for all PVP types going from solo/gang to large fleet.

Of course Calamari are not the "I win" button, but they are by far quite good.

Mad? No. Just having experiences with null-sec fighting.

You fly fleet doctrines and not what You think is useful. Well, in other case you can join IRC.

As said... Raptor is ok. Matars are better.

Harpy/Hawk... For fun frig fleets maybe. Otherwise just joke without role.

Flycatcher is ok, Saber is best.

Caracal in zero? Lol.

Drake is ok if all flies Drake. Rest of BC owns Minmatar.

Naga... Hm. Let me think. Railguns sucks in fleets for low alpha. Tornado is better.

Rokh. Lol. Go mine with it or use for disco fun.

Scorpion. Only if fleet uses dedicated wing otherwise lol.

Bomber is ok. Matar one is best.

EAF. Yeah, fun fleets.

Logi. Oh snap. Scimi is best shield logi hands down.

Onyx with EM hole. Yeah, Broadsword wins.

Tengu is great. Exception here.

Recons. Yeah, Falcon for small gangs. Rooks is barely used in general.

Where you fly? In empire or IRC?

You know I wouldn't dare don't you? Lol

Forgot to mention you were about right on the bottom of your post: Minmatar is slightly above or at least offers the most interesting choice in each category for whatever gang/fleet number.
But still, Calamari are not the Minmatar top predators or the Gallente underdogs, they're definitively in between both witch means they're quite good now.

Null sec dude and I don't have problems choosing my ships, can fly the best in most used races so I'm just embarrassed like a beautiful blonde choosing what shoes to use.

I can fly all the above in several races (unlocking my 4 command ships now and not with my forum trolette of course) and yes, I fly in large fleet like small gang or solo. But I'm horrible at pvp X

Lol, your not the Brightest are you.

Lets just pick a few.

Basi - Oh snap hands down far better reps and used extensively for small gang stuff when only a few logis are around (5 Reps > 3)

Rokh - PL is running Rokh fleets a lot and there excellent Low Sec solo boats.

Naga - Naga can get silly EHP for a Tier 3 while remaining effective, and Naga fleets are commonly used by such people as Darkside (Who are undoubtedly excellent PVP and use Basis regularly)

Falcon Wins for small gang, Rook is popular too.

Scorps are used in most heavy BS fleets (Maels/Rokhs/Hellcats etc)

Drake - Drake blobs are pretty common, and the Drake is excellent for small gang in both small gang and solo (with HAM and HML fits being popular)

Flycatcher - Very tanky for a Dictor, most survivable one actually.

Onyx - Perfectly serviceable HIC, patch the EM Hole and suddenly it has a great resists across the board.

But of course you are one of those; "WINMATAR WINS ALL NERF ALL THE WINMATAR THINGS THERE CLEARLY OP"

Basically, Caldari are good for PVP, train em if you want.

People who say otherwise are just ********.

Surely not. I can fly them all and pick those better one for reason.

Basi vs Scimi. I would take Scimi every moment as I can be cap stable...

Rokh and Naga... As beginners do pull out them in dedicated fleets like PL and Darkside does with high-level doctrines when all know what to do. How many other alliances fly them whole time?

Drake is ok, never said otherwise. As long as all run Drakes, due to delayed alpha. Otherwise meh. Stuff dies before missiles hit.

I stated Flycatcher is ok. Sabre is better though with higher speed. I would prefer Sabre, but I do fly myself Flycatchers when they are on market.

As I said, Falcon is ok. Rook is hard to see. Scorps die to quickly to have impact on the field.

Onyx is ok, but still Broadsword does better IMHO.

And now imagine, I started as Caldari. And eventually tried all other factions as ship and EVE changed. I gave the guy honest answer without polishing the truth and chest-beating. Caldari work, but others often works better. Reasons are simple. Guns are better as missiles for PvP. Bigger alpha is better over dps as it makes logistic life harder. EWAR dies 1st with less impact on the field. Correct me if I am wrong.

There was a reason that I never flew Caldari ships in PvP with my Caldari toon, it was always Minmatar or Gallente ships, with the occasional Amarr that had crazy stupid resists.

It's just that your opponent will happily rep away your funny little missile DPS, if you are lucky to get in range to apply any damage at all.
