Hacking of abandoned POSs

Something I was thinking is that throughout high sec, low sec and even the smaller class Wormholes there are lots of POSs that have likely long since been without fuel and shut down.

in game we have a hacking module that so far has not gotten as much spotlight as it should.

My idea is why not after a certain time frame allow said abandoned POS to be hacked and a new party take control as long as they refuel it. Now maybe it would force you to unanchor and pick up the tower instead if you lacked the corp faction for a station hacked in high sec.

Yes I know one can wardec and just blow the station. But I figure expanding the hacking mechanic would make things interesting.

*I mention that a certain timeframe would have to pass because it would not be fair to an owner if for whatever reason RL cut in for a week and a small group lost their station, but a POS that is anchored and shut down for say six months should be open to this mechanic.

EVE is like swimming on a beach in shark infested waters,  There is however a catch...  The EVE Beach you also have to wonder which fellow swimmer will try and eat you before the sharks.
