here is an idea on how to make eve more unpredictable and exciting, and to make it more scientifically accurate in terms of celestial events and forces

at a random time once every 2 years, a nullsec player sov star system in new eden goes supernova. any ships or pods in space at the time will be instantly destroyed by the explosion. any structures will be destroyed too along with all assets inside them. after this, the supernova remains will provde some cool visuals to nearby systems, and the system that suffered the supernova will no longer be inhabitable since the stargates there were destroyed.

The U.S. Navy has developed a railgun that can hit a target the size of a watermelon from about 200km away.  its probably around 8,000 years in the future, we can go faster then light, be immortal, teleport capital ships, communicate instantly, mine asteroids and make ships invisible, yet still our railguns can't even hit a massive spaceship over 100km....

You must be kidding.
Natural novas are presaged by events, and an inhabited system would have plenty of people able to notice them years in advance.

Novas don't sneak up on you, unless you are in a science fiction work that specifically has someone artificially trigger them.

And if someone has Nova bombs, it's probably the Jovian empire.

Seriously, Novas could be predicted many many years in advance.

Sure, but the very first one hits wherever you live, and you lose literally everything.
