So if certain ores and ice types are only in certain parts of space. How come they are generally the same price in major regional trade hubs

Probably better off in the market discussion subforum. More of a concentration of knowledgeable people, and they desperately need stuff to talk about.

Ahaha. That made my day.

Because people haul stuff from one hub to the other to make profit. If you make, say, 10 million isk by selling at hub A, but 20 million isk by selling at hub B, a lot of people will haul to hub B.
Then, of course, comes opportunity cost and everything, but half of EVE disregards such feeble ideas.

what do you mean oppertunity cost? mining and hauling are free if i do them myself...
Transporation costs are 0 meaning that the only variable is your time.

If a product sells for two different prices in different areas you just buy it where it's cheap and sell it where it's more expensive.
rinse and repeat, you end up with prices rising in one place and dropping on the other respectufly - causing prices to match.

Because there are no rights on products and because you can't limit economical activies by laws in eve(everyone can be a reseller unlike real life).

About hauling - if you can make more money doing something else than hauling and make at least the same amount of money, the haulage won't happen, you'll get a price difference.
Considering most poeple ignore that we're safe.

All of the above combined gives you your answer.

You... What? Are you a magician?

Last time I checked, you still had to pay ISK to get a hauler and/or mining ship to do the actual hauling and/or mining...
If you manage to make a decent amount of money off of mining/hauling, then the sum you invested into your ship can (and will) seem negligible over time, but that still does not make it free, you still paid for it in the end.

I'm not totally useless, I can be used as a bad example.

Based on the fact that with any noobship comes a free civilian miner, he could technically have mined/hauled in that until he made enough isk to purchase a hauler/miner (or BPO of such). Okay, okay, he still had to pay for something - but this payment was free (since he mined/hauled for a net cost of 0 isk, and, as such, an unlimited profit).

Everything is FREEEEEEE.

Alternatively, he simply does not purchase a hauler/miner, and then we don't have to consider how he got the hauler/miner, and as such, mining and hauling is free (in a noobship).

Dezolf, I didn't factor in RL money, as that seems quite logical to everyone...

In-game wise, exactly as you say... civilian ship and miner... but you'd have to be a real stupid ****** Shocked
But, I fail to see how he'll haul ICE in a noobship, and if he can... ME WANT!

I'm not totally useless, I can be used as a bad example.

Unless he gets a 21 day buddy-invite, and makes enough isk mining/hauling in the noobship to pay for a PLEX... :3

And yes, I will keep on going with this ridiculous idea. Up until the point where I can't keep going any more. D:

Also, why shouldn't he be able to haul ice in a noobship? It has a cargo bay like any other ship. Mining it is another issue.

In fact, he doesn't even need to haul/mine, as every noob ship comes with a free unit of trit - FREE ISK! He'll have to dock/undock a LOT, but I'd be willing to wager 2 isk that it's possible (to make isk by docking/undocking).

So yes looking away from all this madness, Dezolf is right. If there's any noticeable difference in price between hubs, people will either haul it themselves or set up contracts to have it hauled for them. Which can be done at very low cost between hubs, because there's already a lot of freighters moving along those lanes, so they may as well pick up your stuff too if they have any room to spare.

I've never set a reward above 500k and I always get my shiz moved from Jita to Rens in a matter of hours, just saying.
