New Wormhole Idea

KEEP IN MIND: This isn't really a serious suggestion, just an idea that I thought would be amusing/entertaining. Not sure if CCP said it was impossible or not.

An explorer is out on his own, scanning down sites to mine/hack and also looking for a Wormhole for his Corp. He finds one, and jumps in to see what it is about. He ends up finding a system with 8 planets. Unknown Planet 3 happens to be Temperate. Upon looking at it, he finds that it is Earth. He seems to have found a new Wormhole to replace the one that closed thousands of years ago.

This would [probably] end up being a rather large expansion if it was ever implemented, but I thought it would be amusing. At least until Goons take it over and start blowing up tourists.

Ideas?

Oh, hey, it's earth!

Yeah. Not sure if it would be more amusing as a Hi-sec system, or a Null-Sec one. Though I imagine the PvP battles for mining rights on the Moon would be fun to watch.

Except that the terrans would kill you before you got even remotely close, as their frigates make our caps look useless...

Storyline reasons why they would want to avoid this aside, there IS a W-space system that more or less mimics the actual Sol system (Yellow dwarf sun of appropriate age, all the planets at the right distances and of the right general types, etc...) but I believe it was clarified as being an easter egg and not the actual Sol system.

Did not know that. That would be fun to find, just to say I found it.
How would it screw with storyline?

Brush up on the lore. When Earth came to New Eden, they were supposedly more advanced than we are today (they were the ones to created the original stargate network).

http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Timeline

After the gate closed, almost all of the colonies died out due to lack of support from their "seeder" organizations back on the Earth side. Those that didn't went back to the stone age... the exception being the Jovians**. Ten thousand years pass before the colonies in New Eden venture back out into the stars.

Now, assuming that the Terrans haven't wiped themselves out (which is also a possibility), that's ten thousand years for the Terrans to advance their technology. And if they went back to fighting as they were before the EVE gate opened that's ten thousand years for them to have advanced their ability to kill/not be killed by stuff.

**The Jovians carry the distinction of being the most advanced race in New Eden... however a few chronicles and short stories strongly suggest that even Jovian tech pales in comparison to old Terran tech.

So yeah... either we find burnt out husks of planets that were once Terran... or we find Terrans that are VERY advanced and hungry for resources (which New Eden is still supposedly rich in).

Oh yeah, i was working under the assumption that the Terrans would of killed each other off. Though now that I think about it, I think that Earth would have to be rather unified to be a real spacerace, so murdering themselves could prove difficult, militarily.
