Respect people when they are alive, once they're dead it no longer matters.

I wouldnt say respecting them after they're dead is useless, espeically if you honor thier memories or dreams some of them do much more good well after they're gone. Just like the doner of the first immortal cell line used for testing drugs effects on human cells, made from a biopsy of her ovarian cancer which unfourutnately did her in so many years ago but its so cruically used today for research.

He died 30% lighter and 50% thinner. It was revolutionary!

But enough with the tasteless jokes. Even if you didn't like - for whatever reason - his company's products, the man gave a much needed kick in the pants to the floundering consumer- and usability-oriented side of the technology industry. Overnight he proved to the world that there's something beyond boring beige boxes running a cobbled-together UI, and that cell phones could be much more if someone weren't afraid to actually put the puzzle together. His work ethic and the way he tackled problems is something I'd like to see in any C-level leadership.

RIP, Mr. Jobs, and good luck to the future Apple. Few people such as yourself don't come by every generation. Your family and your legacy is a proud one for sure.

next up the iCoffin for all your afterlife needs.

le sigh that was utterly tasteless but it wouldnt surprise me if they start installing movie screens on tombstones like they did in that one robin willams movie in the next 20 years.

I hate the phrase, "losing a battle with cancer." I prefer saying that he "took cancer out with him in a heroic sacrifice."
(you know what, i don't care if you think I'm weird. P)

That being said, we've certainly lost a great person. I don't know what his personal life was, but his contributions to the computer/mobile industry and the world in general were great.

RIP Steve Jobs.
