Was just sitting on facebook in zombie mode when i noticed an add in the sidebar, for a website selling eve ships, minerals and ISK for real money.

Not sure how the rules and laws work on this subject, but isn't there something against this?

I intentionally drew over the site link, since i'd be advertising for them otherwise...

It's against the TOS and anyone involved can be banned, but I don't think there are specific LAWS against it (though I recently heard rumor of one in China).

CCP could easily spend $15 with these guys and then watch the money/item trail for a month and just rip all their isk and assets away.

Forget banning, just give them negative trillion wallets. And post about it.

I posted about this a couple weeks ago

if CCP was so inclined if they click the x on the ad, you can check a reason from a list, below the list is a link you can follow to claim the content as your intellectual property.

Better to bust the sellers than remove the channel. If you remove the channel, they will find another way to sell.

I've seen those. I generally just send a link off in a petition when I'm idling a bit in EVE. I figure it's a better way of telling them than advertising it on the forum.

Not to mention the satisfaction of knowing they have spent money on advertising space before busting them ;p.

Just made the thread to check and make sure it'd been noticed :)

Farmville spotted.

Also, your Facebook is in some crazy moon language that takes 4 words to say "like this".

CCP already set the "low bar" by putting cash ahead of peoples in game accomplishments. At one time being rich, or having a great ship, was an accomplishment, the game was a corporate and wealth competition, now is is just killmails bought and paid for with cash via PLEX.

If this were a game without Pay 2 Win then I would care, but the game is Officially Pay 2 Win and so who really cares if CCP has competition?

How can I pay to win in this game?

I mean, start at the basic: how do you win in this game?

Not pay to win.

PLEX does almost nothing to help you win. All it does is give you a bit of isk, which is almost useless if you don't have the skills (both in game and RL) to make it useful.

Hence why newbs buy PLEX and then lose.

This may be the wave of the future for MMOs.

I have been playing Diablo III. In chat, someone was bragging that he sold an in-game item for $US20. There is the standard in-game Auction House for in-game gold, of course. There is also a Blizzard sanctioned real money auction house called, oddly enough, the Real Money Auction House.

So, if you can't stop the Gold Farmers and RMTers, you may as well cash in ! Direct, unabridged, Pay to Win. I'm not sure how it works, but I understand that Blizzard takes a cut (although I may be wrong about that).

So, as bizarre and volitile a concept this is for EvE, this seems to be where gaming is headed. I'm such a cheap besterd that I will never use any such service myself. But apparently, the RMAH is a big hit that allows players to spend real bucks on their hobby. I'd rather spend my disposable income on a good barley wine or Belgian Trippel.

The problem is they completely butchered the diablo franchise with this "game". Don't believe me? Just check their forums, then check again tomorrow and try to find the 10+ negative front page threads that got deleted.
