Missiles, and not being able to see them when zoomed out

The old missile effects might not have been very pretty, but they had an important functionality. You were able to see them while zoomed out. You might think this is pretty minor, but you'd be wrong. Being able to see missiles clearly is very important when it comes to PvP, especially in big fleets where one volley equals a kill. It was also helpful for ratting.

I remember it being said that there was performance improvement with the new effects, so it seems that the only reason for the change was looks. And to be honest, I don't actually like them all that much ( vapour trails in space lol). Can we please have an option to use the old effects, or make missiles in flight more visible when zoomed out, or something? It doesn't even have to pretty.

Exactly my opinion. I like the new missiles. I really couldn't wait to have them! But now I miss the nice look from distance. In fact, I only recognize missiles by it's smoke! Which is way too much imho.

Funny part: in the Inferno trailer all looks awesome! Missiles are visible at (very) large scale and even those smoke trails are looking cool. Very Battlestar Galactica like <3 ....but ingame smoke trails are very 'dense' and kinda brown :(

Yeah, disregard vapour trails in space as a valid sci-fi effect and while you're on the move please do the same to 90% of all the other effects in every space combat fiction that has been published. Wanna know how a realistic combat space simulator would look? Its exactly the same as an advanced physics class board.
Now back to reality:
+1 for zoomed out missile visibility.

They do look ridicu-awesome while zoomed din though... especially the unguided ones...

I would like some sort of expanded box around the whole missile group showing ETA to impact.

VERY cool idea. Might make those old Firewall fleets come back, or if added to defender missiles, make them get used!

I had this problem with hybrids when I crosstrained to gallente. I couldn't see any of my shots. I think they should modify all weapon effects to be more visible. I know it's not exactly realistic, but it's important for tactical purposes.

As stated, the new missile effects look sexy when zoomed in, but I really miss my ball of glowing doom in the form of a volley of missiles that was visible from any zoom.

It's as if the missile visual changes were made by someone who doesn't actually play eve... a preposterous idea ofcourse.

I'd say they're better now at one exception witch I think we might all agree about, it's the visual impact explosion.

Now it's very difficult to stop cycling and avoid ammo waste, in fact over 50km you can easily loose 2 volley when before this change this would rarely happen unless afk.

If this visual effect could benefit at least of some light trailer this would help a lot, however in fleet fights this might bring lag and might require to uncheck "Missile effects"

I agree to giving missiles a bigger glow so we can see em from a distance, its quite annoying actually.

Has there been any response from CCP about this? It's not only unpleasant, but fleet fights with missiles actually look less epic now.
