Insane FPS drop with missiles

Same ship, same asteroid belt, same detail options.

Test rig:
E6500
4gb ram
Ati 6850
Win7 x64

On TQ, 50-60 fps.
On Sisi, 30 fps.

Explanation:
On TQ framerate drops with the amount of missiles on screen, trails, smoke and shock-wave effects on hits, it is frustrating but manageable to play.

On SiSi, warping to a belt, targeting 1 roid, and shooting 1 (only one, yes) missile, framerate instantly drops from smooth 60 to 30, 10-15 seconds after the missile hits the roid and effects go away, framerate goes back to 60 fps. Same thing with multiple missiles on screen, always drops directly to 30fps. One or dozen missiles, same fps hit.
Disabled GPU particles and its back to working 60 fps.

Something is really broken since missiles got a new effect to be visible from medium-far distance. As it is, its unplayable on sisi.

Some strange thing i noticed, on TQ (currently), in missile fight, cpu/gpu usage is both high, around 80-90%.
On Sisi with latest issues, fps is 30, but i got overall lower cpu/gpu usage, around 60% for both. Using interval default setting.

Can a anyone confirm this?

@CCP is this a known issue ( yes i reported it ) and is it gonna go live to TQ since a few last SiSi patches did not address this issue.

Confirmed.

Test rig:
Intel i7-2600K
8gb ram
Ati 6850
Win7 x64

My fixed 75FPS drop to 38FPS when i shot alone with missiles any objects.

@Ribikoka

Tnx for confirmation, vastly superior CPU takes that possible issue from the list.
So ATI or CCP optimization is at fault. We only need someone with a nVidia to confirm or deny the issue.

they just need to do away with the ******* smoke trails, and add on some faint light trails.

no way man, that smoke is combustion and atmospheric interactions . . in space.

what are you suggesting, some futuristic fuel's plasma glow out the tail end of the missile? get real P

Maybe but this drastically FPS drop, i think unacceptable of few missiles.
And i have a relative good computer. What happen when someone want to play with a worse machine or laptop ?

no Problem here.

Disable VSync to see real FPS(Drop)?
(your card can (for example) render 76 FPS, 75 are shown on a 75 Hz Display. If the missile stuff drop the FPS to like.. 70 FPS (real), the card drops below the 75 VSync-Target and have to half it -> 38 FPS)

Tested v-sync, its not it.
With interval imd. i get around 130 fps, Gpu particles on and drops to 30-35.
Interval def. 60 fps drops to 30-35.

So if other ati card works without issues, and TQ doesn't have this problem.... drivers maybe? I am running 12.4 currently.

Confirmed.

Without V-Sync my 125FPS dropped to 38FPS, on the TQ everything is fine.
A littlebit better when i set to low setting, shader quality high to low and anti-aliasing off, but still to drop 46FPS.
No differences when i set resolution settings from 1920x1080 to 1650x1080

I copied to clipboard my fps datas:

Resolution: 1920x1080 - Windowed: False - Audio: 0
Drones: 0 - Explosions: 0 - Turrets: 1 - Effects: 1 - Missiles: 1 - Shader: 3 - Textures: 0 - HDR: 1 - Bloom: 0

Maybe cca. 5-7 seconds need to normalize FPS number back to 125FPS after last missile impact.

Jumping into a belt on TQ with my ATI 5870 cripples my fps without even firing missiles. Please CCP make ATI cards work a little bit better can't really afford anything new at the moment.

I don't get this problem

i7-950
6gb ram
gtx 470

I did notice an issue pre-patch (been having it for months), where my FPS would drop in the manner you describe while in station, then struggle for a minute or two and resume normal behaviour

There should be a rather awesome pic here

I dont think so. Its a program code fail. (No matter Sisi or TQ)
Check your FPS meter how changing when you turning camera angle to sun direction or rat starting to move in a belt.

My FPS drop instantly from 125 to 95 FPS before when i didn't any missile shot with minimal setting without shadow and when my all setting is low. With No - Use lod setting, no - sun occluded by objects setting, without trails.
Over 25 percent performance decreasing because i turned the camera to the sun ??? Really ? From one light ?
40% performance decreasing in anomaly or mission where have a space dust texture ?? This is normal ?
Maybe would be, if i didnt had appropriated PC, but i have.

BUG REPORT!

Why are you reporting this here, bug report it with the ingame tool so they get the actual card details and state of the game etc, not just some people on forum saying "its brokes"

With me, if a missile gets fired, my fps drops to 10 or below from 60, plus my entire screen freaks out with a series of gigantic yellow squares that cover the screen at first, and then slowly shrink until they disappear and then my fps goes back to normal, even if missiles are still getting fired.

This only happens once per undock, not sure about system change. Changing my graphics settings around doesnt help much except for resource cache, resource cache makes it worse but disabling it does not fix it.

I too need to have my missiles effects off or my fps goes from a steady 60-65 fps to 10-12 ! nvidia 9500 gt quad cuore or whatever, 4gb ram and the graphic card is like 2 gb or so ..I dont understan much about computers but this one seems to run EVE very decently untill the new missiles effects got in
