Log out, stuff missing

Last night I just finished the first set of training missions and logged out with a training book for salvaging in my inventory. It required another skill to be trained first which was in progress when I logged off. Today I log in and that book is missing and my portrait for my character is gone too. I'm a grey silhouette. My ISK is still there so I wasn't hacked and I still have my ship with ammunition and other stuff in its bay. What caused this?

Oddly enough, my portrait that I chose does show up here, but it's no longer in game.

Hello Vesci V

You are not seeing the correct portrait, due to a small cache issue which happens during the transistion from the initial client rendered portrait you created, to the actual, server rendered portrait.
To fix this, simply clear your cache ingame. (Escape > Reset Settings > Clear Cache Files)

In regards to missing skills, this is not intended. Feel free to Create a petition in order for customer support to investigate the issue.

I deleted the cache twice and even made a new character, portraits still aren't working. I can make all the fancy pictures (which is pretty kewl) and it says it saves them but then they don't show up. IDK about the training manual unless it had a time thing associated with it. Anyway, it's not a huge deal with the portraits, I just show up as a silhouette when I ask questions in chat.

Game is SUPER involved, not something you just pick up and hit the ground running. I don't want to trouble customer service since I'm just a trial right now and it's entirely possible I just did something wrong with the training book that disappeared.

Did you accidentally leave the skillbook in a previous station?

Each station has a separate inventory and each ship has a separate cargo hold. Try checking the assets window to see if you left it somewhere.

YES!!! Thank You!!! I found the book at a previous station, so that's a noob mystery solved. I didn't realize inventory was station specific.

So I guess it's just down to the profile pic thing which still doesn't work. I've also seen some other graphical glitches like appearing in a station as only a torso and hair. Not sure what's going on there.

Thanks again, lesson learned.

edit: Ran the repair and it said that Eve was successfully repaired. I know if WoW says it was "repaired" then it found a corrupt file. If this one works the same then hopefully that'll fix the graphical glitches.

Perhaps a driver related issue? You have the latest stable drivers for you graphic card and the motherboard?

Hello Vesci V,

Since you just created your character your profile picture that you see in chat rooms is now all done server side. It takes some time for the pictures to render since there are lots of new pictures being made and existing ones being modified. So just give it a day or two and it should appear, if it hasn't in about 3 days I would file petition if your worried about it.

Alright, thanks. Weird that something like processing a picture should take so long, but whatever.

I'm running an AMD card with the 12.3 drivers. Current is 12.4 but that one had an issue with another game I play. Either way, 12.3 should be fine. I think there are just some occasional graphics glitches in the game. I've noticed flying thru object and other anomalies but they're minor and haven't affected gameplay and they seem to be random, not repeatable.

On an unrelated note, I've gotten pretty far into the tutorials and am starting to really enjoy the game. OH, just completed a skill....gotta run.
