plenty of pirates and gankers fail terribly at their attempts, but no mails are given to shame them with and mailwhore about... Idea

Are you one of those failed gankers, and are you asking for one of these 'survival reports'?

Interesting concept, the lack of information gives you a clear understanding to the situation?

Regardless, I can see the educative benefits of having loss mails. TBH: it would be useful if not interesting to be able to see CONCORDS KB perhaps.

Though how you will be able to discern a failed "gank" distinctly from the details without having the intended target's identified might simply be problematic as what happens if people want to inflate the stats with attempting to kill freindly NPCs or Concord themselves? Or engineer things with KB padding and testing? Likewise some low sec encounters that fail or even "succeed and then fail" may also be as a result of gate/station gun mechanics and GCC status.

Also would the gank only be a success if the dropped amount exceeds the value of the gank? Will it identify if the loot was actually recovered by the ganker or associates, though happy to assume all are, it's still technically a loss to the target I imagine in most cases? Whats the retrospective impact to the target and/or tear "saturation level"?

The qualifying critereon might need to be explored really to be able to answer what questions you really have here I think. But I think its a bit more convoluted simpy because people have a different concept of what is a "failure" here.

I thought the new system was not called "killmail" anymore. I think it's some kind if 'interaction report', which should qualify under your request.

Pretty sure that it will take too much server space to mash out the numbers and logs for every pot shot taken at someone.

An actual combat log ought to do it. I'm assuming we don't have one, I've never checked.

if they post their kills they should post their losses

any corp that does not should be openly chastised in the corp forums
then just peruse their KBs for the losses you seek, all nice and tidy

Mining in a Covetor, three armor rigs, small named shield booster. Attempted gank by solo-tard failed, hauler grabbed his loot.

Posting to confirm I'd use a shield booster with armor rigs, too. Roll

I'm thinking alot of corps do not bother reporting losses caused by NPC's. Which is good, I lost a torp raven once to 3 officer spawns because I got hung on a rock and they stayed out of range.
