With the new ally system, if you are allied to a alliance that is in a mutual war( they did not start the war) And I join my corp to an alliance, what happens to the wars i'm involved in through the new ally system? Does the forever war transfer to my new alliance or will it end?

Is it just me or is all of this war declaration mechanics stuff seem very overcomplicated, confusing and pointless?

OP, I believe it rolls into one big ball of dough that Death himself noms on until the CCP Galaxy Lords intervene.

Or something.

Yup. That is pretty much an exact quote from the dev blog. The Galaxy Lords should stop by in Inferno 1.1, but until then OP, enjoy the noms.

I don't believe mutual wars can have allies (defenders).

I'm also not sure if an ally corp (defender) has the ability to join an alliance. But I'd be most interested to hear the results of whether or not this is possible. Being an ally may count the same as having an outgoing war, and thus block alliance joining. But it could very easily transfer to the alliance as well

So a small Corp could be trapped in aggression with a large alliance unable to move to an alliance willing to help them by adopting their wars?

All at the same time now having reduced options with increased costs for escalating numbers of allies as of 1.1?

Surely that just means bye bye small corp, largest alliances can make you extinct?

well seems that way, I have no way to get out of this war but waiting for a patch then having to wait a further two weeks. Does ccp actually play test these changes before they go live?

Not just you. It's convoluted, non-intuitive and doesn't fix the problems it claims it wants to, making it pointless.

no no, a single corp that is wardecced can still join an alliance. I meant I didn't know that if you had become a defender in someone else's war if you could still join an alliance.
