Are ECM drones a good deterent against gankers. I only ask because recently some pilots attmepted to gank me and my ecm drones shut them down fast while concord finished them off.

Money is better than poverty, if only for financial reasons.

I wouldn't call it great...but if you get a lucky jam it can totally save your arse. One jam can really lower DPS for a bit until concord arrives. I usually keep some on hand anytime I have an extra 25M^3 of space in the drone bay.

Are the ecm drones sufficient for you to get credit for the kill?

Doesn't that count as you legitimizing the attack and therefore Concord won't turn up and the battle continues?

Defending yourself does not prevent Concord from showing up, so no. If you were stupid enough to "pre-emptively" jam a ganker BEFORE they fired... that would be different, and hilarious.

gankers will just wait for the miner's drones to engage a rat, then attack. also ecm drones would only work with a single ganker unless you get lucky with the jams and are fast enough to target and direct drones on the other ships.
