We've got tractor beam and salvager models, why not target painters?

Hey all,
Tonight I was sitting in my Golem, plowing through a mission with little effort and thinking to myself as my cruise missiles arced towards my target; "Man, the target painter animation is a little dated, it looks like it's just coming out of the ship!" Now, I realize that there are more important things than putting yet another new model into the game, but this would be something I'd like to see.

So, my question to CCP (If there are any Devs browsing the forums) is, are target painter modules going to get a model at some point or stay as they are?
My question to the community is, do you think target painters should get a model at all?

Or ECM, dampener, and everything else in the mids? It'll be a lot of work adding all these new hardpoints for mids on every model.

Most ships have spare hardpoints for stuff like that. My golem has no turret points and yet has hardpoints for its tractor beams and salvagers, so it's not a HUGE ask, just one that I'd personally like to see and I was wondering if anyone else felt the same.

So tp hardpoints only for Golem and not everything else?

Hardpoints are based off hi slots. Currently, most hi slot modules have models. Pretty sure zero midslot modules have models.

I'm saying that some midslot mods, such as as the target painter should get models.

And we are telling you that it isn't that easy. As of now, most high slot modules have models, adding ones to every mid or even certain mid slots is vastly more complicated than just drawing up a painter model. You have to figure out where it goes on every ship that doesn't have an extra utility high, or that has one filled and still wants to use a painter.

Maybe in 2023...

Before that its just a silly idea.

What I would like to see is models for shield and armor reppers, gang link, probe launchers, anything really that goes in a high slot. Some of them could just be little radar dishes and such.

If you give everything a visual model or effect, might as well remove ship scanners from the game.

Remote reps, and things like that, that use a high slot, are much more likely to be implimented. I'd love to see gang link modules..or hell even different effects from the bullshit scan res effect.

Amen to that. Hurling a can of paint through cold, hard vacuum to hit the enemy ship and splatter all over it so you can see them better to shoot them... the graphics alone would be insane, to say nothing of the liquid physics involved, all in realtime. Most graphic cards would probably spontaneously combust from the overload.

I mean, what are you proposing? A bunch of guys in vac suits working a trebuchet and paint bombs while mag-locked on the hull? Could you even fit something like that on a frigate?

And here I was thinking it was just a guy with a paintbrush and a canvas staring out of a window on your ship, painting a picture of your target so that your missiles could find it more easily in the vast emptiness of space.
