account activation time?

Hi folks,

Just signed up for a second account. However, I'm not able to log into it. I try to log in on the website, and it asks me to input a character name from that account, but I can't log into the game to create a character, it says wrong account name or password. I've checked, double checked, and triple checked.

Account name is right,
Password is right,
caps lock not on.

Can't think of anything else, except maybe there's a delay in activating a new account? idk. Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: I used the same email address for the new account. They didn't say anything about it when I did it though. They still haven't charged me yet either... still can't log in.

In my experience account creation is instantaneous (I have 7 accounts).

Should be able to login to https://gate.eveonline.com

Also try:

I did create a petition, and gave them the extra info they asked for. Since they haven't charged me, I assume I did something wrong. No big deal, I just don't want to get charged twice.

This might be some kind of bug on CCPs side. Asking for character name is security feature to make sure you really own the account, but of course that should not be asked on new accounts which don't have any character at all.

I bet you miss typed the account name (probably a capitalisation issue) and you're trying to log in to someone else's account :)

A quick help


Every thing that is connected to real money in this case you couldn't play after paying create a petition immediately
If it's their problem they will solve it ASAP if it's your's they will tell why if you have been hacked trough key-loggers or similar you and they will almost immediately know and fix. In all these case if you don't make a petition immediately you will be the losing.
