EvE would die a pretty quick death.

And people have gone out missioning in their State Ravens. If you're smart about what you're doing, you can pimp your shit out beyond all reason and do so safely.

Wut?

What dont you understand? pvpers have plenty of space to pvp in.... lowsec and 0.0.... oh and wormholes.... why cant pve'ers have a safe zone to pve?

Because EvE is Everyone Vs Everyone.

And because EvE is not just meant to look like a cold, harsh univerese, it's meant to be one. That means you're never safe.

There might be a small decline in numbers off the bat because butthurt griefers dont get there way but the sub numbers would rise once the word got out that you can pve in saftey.... theres other mmo's that are worst quality then this and prob have 200k people playing at any given time.... highest ive seen since i resubbed..... ( I regret)..... is 30k....

You're one of those who don't get it I see.
*Everything* in EVE is PvP. Turning it into what you say 'other MMO' = theme park, will kill it.

Next to that, the shown fit is horribly stupid. It's like shouting in local Goon controled space "all Goons **** their ****" and expect NOT to get shot.

Nobody in his right mind would fly this. And again the fit stinks.

Ya... my suggestion might edge closer to the term "theme park" but it wouldnt..... people only get killed in highsec due to griefers (or wars, thats not bad... i like wars).... griefers are never a good thing to ignore. This game would still be the best pvp mmo around.

No other MMO has experienced growth every single year for 9 years. Every other MMO (even WoW) coasts down to the next new expansion grind while the company hopes they don't run out of money before the expansion launches. EvE's sub numbers generally grow between expansions.

WoW peaked in 2010 at 12m Subs and has declined steadily to 10m.
Next biggest is Aion, peaked at 4m in mid 2009, has declined steadily to 2.5m
SWOTOR peaked at just under 2 in January and is already back to 1.5.
Second Life is finally leveling off at 800k (honestly not familiar with SL gameplay)
Warhammer Online peaked at 800k in mid 08 and crashed to 100k by 2010
Age of Conan, same, but at 700k.
Rift, peaked at 600k in mid 2011, now down at 250k.
LOTR Online, peaked at 575 in 2011, now at 250k

Now, drumroll please,
EvE, peaked at ~460k before Incarna, dropped to ~412k, and has recovered back to ~445k and is on track to break 460k again before Incarna's anniversary.

So which MMO's regularly have 200k people online? WoW only? Maaaybe WoW and Aion? SWOTOR might have peaks hitting 200k, but I doubt that's consistant. Runescape's 800k subs obviously can't support 200k online at a time.

Sidenote, Second Life is the only one with higher PCUs on a single shard than EvE.

1-12m Peak MMOs
150k-1m Peak MMOs

In other words, not only are you full of shit; you are demonstrably so.

Hopefully they can be happy with 4th among Western MMOs, behind WoW (by GameStudio/Jesus Blizzard), SWOTOR (backed by the worlds biggest franchise this side of Coca-Cola and McDonalds), Runescape (Free to Play), and Second Life (still don't know what that's about). Hopefully Hillmar doesn't decide that Super-Mega-Extra Greed-is-Good, and that EvE has to go to number 1 or bust.

Seriously, little Icelandic studio has the 4th Biggest MMO in the world.

ya okay w.e...... this game is run by egomaniacs who's whole purpose in this game is to grief other players.... and dont tell me this game has over 400k people playing... most everyone has multiple alt accounts so shove that up your ass. This game will stay small and cater to griefers.... i guess this game can act like a sponge and keep soaking up all those lowlife scum. Thats one good side of this game.

Oh the irony, I can almost taste it.

I won't bother dissecting all the BS you made up or misinterpreted in you post but I'd just like to point out that EVE doesn't stand for "Everyone versus Everyone" or "Everybody versus Everybody". "EVE" in "EVE Online" stands for the EVE Gate. Nothing more, nothing less. Just because you back-interpreted it as an acronym doesn't actually make it one and it certainly doesn't make it an actual argument, which you apparently think it is since you bring it up whenever you post. Which makes you look like an idiot, by the way.

Every game has alts. But each sub brings in the same revenue as every other sub, alt or not. 400k subs is still the 5th* Largest Subscription base of Western MMOs (inc ftp Runescape and Second Life which, as ftp, are really in a different category when talking sub numbers).

How the hell is having the 5th largest subscriber base among western MMOs and 3rd among Paid Western MMOs staying "small?"

*apparently I can't always count to 5 accurately.

Hi, welcome to the EvE-O Forums. Like many forums, EvE-O allows users to express themselves within a segmented area attached to the bottom of their posts called a signature.

I believe you just failed the Internet.

EDIT: It Even has a Line now. The old forums had no line separating post from Sig, and most people still understood what a sig was.

I cant think of another mmo where people would have multiple " alt accounts " not talking about alt characters.
