You think that will stop people from ganking you? People will always find a way to kill you in the most painfull way possible and almost no one does it for the ISK, a tip would be stick you your hulk if you really want otm ine and accept being ganked.

A real tip would be only mine aligned and at your keyboard in high-sec.

As an added bonus, this tip also allows you to ignore a tank and fit for max yield.

Why not a Vexor? Added bonus: If you mine properly in a Vexor you are immune to smartbombs (read: 0m from rock, to reduce drone travel time).

The Vexor, properly skilled and configured, can approach a covetor in mining speed.

Not pass, mind you, but approach.

The only down side is constantly having to empty your cargo due to insane amounts of return per drone at higher skills.

What's its yield compared to a rohk? EHP on lowest resist? (I presume EMP? Or explosive with the em ward?)

Am genuinely curious, looks like a pretty lulzy fit. Also, as an above poster said, CCP please introduce mining upgrades for mid slots.

Depending on the yield and EHP of this thing, wouldn't it actually be massively unprofitable to tank it?

I can't load up EFT at the moment, but surely that thing has pretty high EHP, and isn't going to drop anything shiny to help off set losses. T3 salvage is worth a bit, but not as much as how ever many tornados would be needed for that thing.

110,824 EHP with all Vs.
2288m3 cargo
Mines 469m3 a minute so it fills up in under 5 minutes.

I could build and lose 10 Coveters (without insurance) for what this costs and mine twice as fast and bring back 2.8 times more ore per trip. Not to mention that I don't lose any SP when it gets ganked.

Hell, I would probably gank that Tengu for the lulz, and I don't do that kind of thing. With a sig radius of 232m it is the proverbial barn to which one must hit the side (A Coveter is only 150m)

Ahh, terrible yield it is. Well, there had to be something wrong with it.

Pity, I have a stack of nanoribbons that would have greatly benefitted from miners switching to tengus for the duration of hulkageddon.
