This is a recent development for putting man on mars in our life time.

I am a little tired of all this overshooting they are trying for. Colonize the Moon, colonize Mars...

How about we go ahead and figure out how to colonize orbit for the general public so it is like taking a plane to Hawaii to get up there. You know instead of sending four people I don't care about far far away... maybe if I didn't like them I would warm to the idea.

NASA wants people to give a damn then make space travel worth while to them.

This isn't about nasa, its privately conceived and funded and i guess what would be easier ? they proven that maintaining a orbital station is expensive and difficult and doesn't provide the return a planet based colony would as the colony would have the resources of an entire planet.

My thoughts anyway. If they can do it, it will be mans ticket to the rest of the solar system.

Also astronauts train for years and are in better shape than the SEALs in order to survive. Joe McFatass would probably die in the launch P

Well private that's up to them but I'm not talking Space Colonies I am talking single stage to orbit, that is where everything government should be focused. You'll never have real space travel for the people until you can crack getting them up there for an affordable price. I mean starting 2023 with four and having 20 by 2033 is goodish but single stage like a cargo plane means the spaceship they put up their could carry hundreds. That is where all government space resources should so.

But that is a different topic if this is privately funded. Just I don't expect a lot of people will get hot and bothered about other people going into space anymore.

True Big smile

Colonizing low earth orbit is already well on the way anways, so i guess its natural progression to a planet based colony.

Actually not true. You don't need to be in great shape for space travel. Look at all the Space Tourist in there 60's... Not exactly Seal material.

FAA Space tourism regulations say that their is no health restrictions on space travel. The gums flying back people screaming in pain is a movie thing. It is prolonged weightlessness that is the problem which would not be if orbital assembly for cheap was possible because they could just use artificial gravity on ships.

What about re-entry? That's like 7.2 G's

Yeah, we got like what, 15 years till earth hits it's carrying capacity and the fun starts?

If those predictions are right, neither the moon nor mars are gonna help.

That's just a SWAG (scientific wild ass guess) but the industrial revolution caused exponential population growth so it's going to happen. When exactly we can only guess

False.
People don't eat machines. Industrial Revolution did squat for population growth.

If you are going to spread lies, at least make sure there is nobody around who actually knows what happened.

The wars will start, people will die. BAM! Some of that carrying capacity got freed up. Carry on people.

Yeah, providing a more efficient way to mass produce food did nothing to help people not starve to death so they could have more kids

Here's a chart

What you should be looking at is called Agricultural Revolution, not industrial revolution.

The Dutch started it with invention of Four-Field Crop Rotation. The Brits picked it up and ran with it for all it was worth.

And the industrial revolution allowed us to have bigger and more fields and still be able to harvest them. Beef used to be expensive and for special occasions, you're not going to win this Twisted

Also it developed the ability to transport food across countries and continents before it all went bad
