So a letter from CCP's Chris McDonough states that CCP has pretty much put all their resources now into Dust514. This is what I was saying in an earlier thread, that EVE is no longer CCP's main concern, that Dust514 is and it will be that way for sometime to come. They won't launch it and leave it hanging. They'll continue to put all their efforts into making Dust514 a success. To do this, means that EVE is no longer their #1 priority.

Here is a quote from Chris McDonough letter to members of Mind's Eye Society, fans of World of Darkness.

Quote:
As many of you know, last year was difficult for CCP, and many long-term employees and good friends lost their positions within our organization. The company felt it had too many priorities and was trying to do too many things. World of Darkness is still very much in active development, but CCP as a company will be putting all of its efforts into making DUST 514 a revolutionary game and bringing it to market.

My previous thread was locked and I was told I needed a better grapevine. Well this is straight from Chris McDonough of CCP.

And would you rather them not put their resources into Dust and risk it becoming a failure both financially and quality-wise?

I really don't get what you're trying to say, even the highlighted part of your quote doesn't actually say that they're making Dust the main priority.

Context: CCP World of Darkness resources allocated to Dust.

I think you're blowing this out of proportion. CCP Shanghai is dedicated to Dust 514's development and the game has a lot to do with EVE. Its integration is going to be a major bullet point for any EVE expansion. Connecting the dots between both EVE and Dust is a very mutual affair, and it's imperative that Dust ends up as a quality product in order for those connections to have any meaning. Fanfest was a huge indication that CCP isn't going to repeat the same mistakes they made previously. This is CCP's latest IP. It will benefit EVE players a great deal if it ends up being the game CCP is aiming for it to be.

look you can play semantics with CCP press releases all you want, all anyone else cares about is that good EVE content is being created and bugs are being iterated on/fixed

What part of "...CCP as a company will be putting all its efforts" is hard to understand? Also, it means that, even after it is launched, it'll be some time before resources and efforts will go back into EVE. They'll have to stay on Dust so that it doesn't fail. That is the point. That means you'll not see any substantial efforts going toward EVE for quite some time.

Did you actually had believe they had delayed that thing?

With would be even worse to them because they have signed contracts. They just activate damage control and said what people want to ear

sorry if i'm mistaken

Well, I wouldn't count major advancements for EVE out quite yet. Fanfest was very positive as far as EVE's future developments are concerned.

We've been given lip service many times before. Do you all play the same game I play? Do you know the same CCP I know?

I see it more as pragmatic.

what's the chances that the WoD fan base will believe that resources were put back on EVE and Dust, or that because Dust is close to launch, that all resources are being dedicated to a successful launch?

It's a slight of hand statement to provide excusable cover for the redirection of resources AWAY from the intended recipient of that letter.

I do not see it as a big change from the already low staff levels behind EVE.

All I want from CCP is re-assurance that EVE will not be delegated to a small team. If that is the case. I'll save my money and wait for EVE to be their top priority again.

Oh dear, you failed again. Your grapevines are ok this time, its just that you are examining the little dead bits at the tips, rather than the trunk or roots. The funding that would have gone to WoD, money that was already allocated, is now being funnelled in to DUST514, so as not to take money away from EVE. If you had bothered to do even the smallest amount of decent research you may have found this for yourself.

People like you will not be "re-assured" unless someone from CCP comes to your house, with two lawyers, a signed affidavit written in blood and a personal invitation from Jesus Christ himself to watch over the proceedings.

Yes, instead of funding WoD. Nothing to do with EVE, that has a separate team and separate funding.

To being with, it means they have to put effort into developing EVE since it's the link between it and Dust that makes Dust a revolutionary game, and EVE does not at the moment support any such link.

OP: Posting 5 times in the Like and Get Likes Thread to get 93 likes seems a bit desperate.

Correct. It's just management-speak to make the customer feel better/special. CCP putting all off it's effort into DUST 514 would mean shutting down Eve and the forums, which obviously isn't going to happen.

I'll give you a 1 out of 10 troll points for trying to stir up **** over a mindless management cliche.

edit: Okay, 2 out of 10 troll points, since you made me reply. /grumble

edit2: No, back to 1 out of 10 troll points since my post landed on the first page, thus allowing my (obvious) observation about you being a troll to discourage people from further feeding your troll attempt.
