EVE is built on player driven content. Is that content what people want? If it is, why don't more people play EVE? If it isn't, how long before CCP steps in?

Stupid troll. Most people dont want player driven content. They play wow. Others like it and they play EVE.

How delightfully circuitous. Most people don't want player driven content? So you're saying EVE is doomed to niche status?

Yes doomed to be possibly the only MMO in existence to show upward growth consistently for almost a decade

Problem is, 'the masses' aren't as intelligent as an average eve player. they just want entertainment spoonfed to them and cry when they can't click to win it without thinking.

Eve is a game that requires actual intelligence to be successfull in. So yes, I believe it's 'doomed to be a niche game'. That said however, those that play it will continue playing it for a long long time.

Hell, put one of our shiniest carebears into any other MMO and he becomes a leet shark, badass Mofo.

Does railgun ammunition come in Hollow Point?

I think so. The more I play EVE the more I see that one has to find an area of the game that they enjoy. I, for example, enjoy the wormhole life. Its alot more work and ISKies to keep that running in addition to managing resource runs and dealing with the losses that come with that life. I enjoy that aspect of the game since I am not really good at PVP at this point but I am great at organizing non-PVP operations and management. I leave PVP ops to my director who prefers to run those types of operations. In addition allowing him access to the corp wallet and he would spend it like a drunken Sailor on shore leave which I would not expect any less of him.

So niche game probably since everything you have is not really yours, you are just carrying it till someone successfully takes it from you. Thats how our world seems to work

Despite my posting prowess I really am terrible at this game

EVE's player driven content method drives out the players that are too dumb to get it. Thus, the reason I like this game. ITs not full of a bunch of idiots that need their hand held (for the most part anyway)

Eventually, people who do not truly understand what 'player driven content' is will actually become frustrated and mad with the EVE community and quit

I just hope they remember to give me their stuff first...

ill tell you why people dont play eve, people dont like the idea of real time skill training. people like games such as cod and bf because you can grind and have the best of everything in a day or two maybe three. Eve doesnt work like that, eve requires an extreme amount of patience as well as a semi intelligent thought process to do nearly everything in the game. no one is attracted by that idea, i think eve needs to market and capitalize on the pvp aspect of eve a bit more

He's propably referring to the yearly change, which was slightly positive even last year. It's impressive compared to most MMOs, which start high and tank in the first year or two. WoW has been the one popular exception in the west, but even it has shed a million or two subs in the last few years.

Eve players are intelligent... if depravity is a sign of intelligence. Tell any intelligent person irl that you farm carebear tears in your free time for entertainment, and they'll introduce you to a shrink.Roll

If Fanfest population can be considered representative of Eve player base, it can be said that Eve players are a sad bunch with low incomes who lead barren lives. Fortunately, most of them are apparently sov null blobbers, an indication that they are composed of the worst r3tards rather than the average player.

In other words, the reason why eve is a small community is because its mostly Mature Players who understand nothing good comes from instant gratification.

The younger generation (even though I'm only 24 lol) think that if you can't get some sort instant gratification out of it, its not worth the time.

I don't know where in the world you people get the impression that the EVE playerbase is more intelligent than the average man on the the street, but it's proven just how wrong you are by simply reading the forums.

What EVE players are is more childish, arrogant, self centered, self righteous, manipulative and just plain meaner than the average man on the street. It doesn't take brains to play this game, it takes sadomasochistic base personality traits to play. Christ, 7000 EVE players alone subscribe to the SA forums. That alone brings the average I.Q. down about 10 points.

Definitely ice mining and level 4's. Ice mining because ice doesn't deplenish, therefore- you can set your lasers going and walk away, come back 15 minutes later and drag n' drop. Level 4's with a Tenju are amazing! You don't even have to warp out anymore like you used to with the CNR. You just watch a movie or Robot Chicken and grind L4's all night!

The isk/hr is glorious. That's what Eve is all about anyways, isk/hr... whats yours?

name other MMOs (other than WoW) which have seen consistent growth since launch rather than explosive growth followed by an equally dramatic decline into irrelevance

then tell me which of those have survived more than 5 years

npc alts have no opinions worth consideration

If you were a new player with no knowledge about EVE and the first thing you did was:

1. Looked at these forums
2. Get suicide ganked
3. Get scammed out of your meager earnings
4. Fleet with someone who offered to help, but then stole your mission objective/destroyed your ship and gloated
5. Looked at Jita local

Would you really want to stick around?
