Can't delete character

I'm trying to delete a character on my account.

The character has no assets, has spent no skill points in anything and been in a NPC corp for 1 month and 2 days. I only created the character when playing with the creation page, but now I actually need a slot.

The 'terminate character' button on the 'select character' screen won't let me click on it. Usually it highlights when you hover your cursor over it, then it allows you to click. But now, I can't even click - it won't highlight or anything, it's like it's part of the background.

Any ideas on what to do?

*For clarification: I am aware that you have to wait 10 hours before deleting a character, but this isn't what I'm asking. The 10 hour stasis period comes after you have clicked on 'terminate character', then you click 'complete termination'. I am not at that stage - I am trying to PUT the character into 10 hour stasis - but it won't let me.

Don't know if you are having the same problem as I did....
But I found I could not delete a character via the 'terminate' icon also. But I could right click on his portrait when he was in the 'selected' position and terminate from the pop up menu.

Is it the only character on the account? That might be why then. Otherwise I guess Eve just hates you

I have a character I cannot delete either. (yes I have a second character). I tried the terminate button, I tried right clicking, and it sends him to the "reprocessing plant" or whatever its called, but he is still skilling up in the background and I can click on him and use his account so obviously that means nothing. Fact my new character tried grabbing some skills that he was still using so that’s how I know.... I had to go back in the old character and shut the skill down.
