Not sure if this is the right forum, please forgive.

I launched some PI loot. My fleet mate picked it up. It set an aggression timer for him.

That seems buggy. We're in the same fleet, shouldn't we be able to share the loot?

Thanks!

Not a bug. That was a warning your friend is actually a spy. You should open fire and pod him next time before he cleans our your corp hangers.

If you feel compelled to thank me, I will gladly take ISK and or ships. Fly safe!

Dang Marlona, that's just evil... Truth is , he is tracking your IP and is coming to raid your fridge. Hide all of your munchies! Twisted

Seriously, were you in system when he grabbed the goodies. If not, he will get a timer as you not only need to be in the same fleet (if in a different corp) you need to be in system.

I was in system. I launched the goods. He warped to me and looted the container. Then it set an aggression timer.

Yeah, sounds like the mechanics are goofed. Just submit a bug. As long as you don't shoot him, just ignore it though. I do.

Why dont you just not shoot him?

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

I had a buggy aggression timer problem yesterday as well.
I was mining in a belt and some rats attacked.
I killed the rats.
I should note that this gives me an aggression timer for killing the rat and that is why I did not notice anything strange
about being aggressed to the other player. As both aggression timers look the same on your screen.

Then someone came up to steal from the dead rats to grief me.
No problem he started flashing as he was marked as a thief.
At this point the game disconnected.
Great timing. Anyway I reconnect and he is gone.
I finish mining head back to station and unload.
Note I still have an aggression timer and I assume it is from the killing of the rat.
When I go to exit the station out I get a warning message that I am in combat with someone.
I have an aggression timer on me?
What and how did that happen?
Not only that but the timer did reset to 14 minutes and it was almost done It was about to expire I assume the rat timer was expiring. But when the message poped up the aggression timer reset to 14 minutes.
Now I never touched the dead rats in the belt.
All I was doing was mining an asteroid which finished while I was disconnected.
When I logged back in my ship was intact with no damage at all. So how did I get an aggression timer when the other guy stole from my wrecks, he had the aggression timer but somehow the disconnect shifted it to me also.
Very strange and odd aggression timer behavior. I know I was supposed to have a timer from the rat killing but a person never gets
a message leaving a station about a combat with a player from a rat killing timer. So what was up with that?

My bet is: same fleet different corporation. Fleets do not affect aggression flags, but corp membership does. In other words, being in the same fleet does not give you any more privileges then you would have while not in a fleet.

We are both in the same corp, and also in the same fleet.

Homonoia, is this a recent change? When we were incursion griefing, I specifically remember that the alt getting aggression would have to be out of fleet in order to properly flip everyone's cans, lest the not get any aggression.

Yeah, that's a bug, but a potentially harmless one, since you can attack a corpmate without repercussions anyway.
