Hello everyone!
I've recently gotten back onto eve and I've settled into flying frigates solo. Being in love with Rockets and shields I've decided on Caldari. I know that typicly Assault Frigs will have a heavier tank and are meant for brawlfests, while the interceptors typicly speed tank and are meant for kiting.
However what I don't know is if either of these ships play their roles well. If I remember correctly the Crow used to be (or still is) the fastest ship in the game and was a great interceptor.
Are there any frig pilots that are more acquainted with these ships who can give me some advice?
Thanks!

There is a "Ship & modules" forum section where you might have more luck.

I believe the claw is the fastest ship in the game but I have found all of them are too fast for turets so your choice for a missile based ceptor makes it a good choice. The thing that has kept people out of any of the frigates is their need to be inside drone range and the inability to outrun drones. 5 x T2 Lights, often ECM force you to flee battles before you can prove effective.

Ah, I'm not looking to be the fasting ship in the game. It was just the first I had heard of the Crow. I do see your point about drones and it is a contributing factor to me choosing rockets as my weapon system. However I'm new to PvP and they seem to be a great place to learn. T1 at first of course. At the same time I enjoy being small, and fast and I think that 'Ceptors and Assault Frigs fit that well. What I'm concerned with are the actual ships themselves.

A properly fit combat frigate can handle 5 Warrior IIs easily. A second flight of drones or a neut should be the only things forcing you to run from a larger ship.
