I'm sure WiS will make a comeback one day, but they've still got a ways to go to bring the space game up to scratch.

The reason most people who laughed at Incarna laughed at Incarna (apart from EVE's knuckle-draggers who have no sense of wonder) is because it wasn't multiplayer.

The "vision" of this being the world's greatest all-in s-f game including avatars (and not just WiS but ultimately groundfighting, and even aircraft battle, etc. as well) is still a worthy goal to aim at.

And I'm pretty sure it still is CCP's ultimate goal.

And that makes me happy, and inclined to continue supporting the game.

I do not get anyone who opposes WIS. The concept was always part of the plan for from as far back as discussions in beta!

It is not some new alien direction the game would in.

As long as they keep up the fixes and add new features to the space part of the game then why the hell shouldn't the game develop?

And those that play eve on atom CPU PC's really can go take a walk, why should people would are too tight to buy a £100 or less graphics card stop the game from developing. Even my wifes ancient crappy viao can display the captains quarters. I call bullshit on those that can not run the captains quarters , bullshiting tight fisted tw**s.

Or they could be working on optimising the WiS client - one would like to hope. I just bought a new video card, and I don't plan to do that again for 3 years or so.

Posting on this character because apparently some people get upset when they're asked difficult questions. M.

CCP's main flaw seems to be the notion that adding improved versions of the UI (WiS, inventory system) equates that its precursors are obsolete and need to be purged from the system effectively forcing its playerbase to work with the new tools, whether it's desired or not.

Though this is necessary in certain instances, such as changes to the gameplay mechanics where players need to adhere to the same rules in order to create meaningful interaction, that's not always the case. The aforementioned examples of WiS and the new & improved inventory system are clear examples in which the choice ought to be left with the players.

If players desire to continue running the EVE client on their Commodore 64, they should have that option without being forced into the CQ. If they are unfamiliar with the practical applications of Windows Explorer they should still have the option to work with the old inventory system.

Perhaps that's why Dust got WiS. Everybody expects it on the PS3 to look like crap anyway.
