Overview

Oookay. So as you may have already read my skill points are rather low. Or, at least you could still say I'm in my fledgling stages of EVE. I'm trying to get the most out of my experience in game and that leads me towards trying to find a good bunch of people to fly with. Now because I find myself infatuated with lists, here's one that explains the purpose of this post.

About Me

  • I like root beer, A lot, maybe too much. If it was a nuclear apocalyptic world-set and I had the option of grabbing only one thing before I fled from the horde of shambling zombies -- it would be a case of root beer, guns are for girls.

  • I think I would prefer a null-sec lifestyle but I'm open to otherwise. I prefer the lawless space concept and I prefer an environment where bad stuff can happen, it makes it significantly less boring.

  • I'm the type of guy that values two major things in an MMO (in this instance, EVE). In order for me to feel truly fulfilled in my daily logging in I need a sense of strong community. The biggest reason I play any MMO at all is because of the interactions I have with other people. I find myself easily bored and having fleeting interest in a game/genre when there's nobody to talk to outside of starring at rookie help all night.

  • The second value I have is that I like to feel like I'm contributing. When I dedicate myself to something I dedicate myself to it pretty hard. I thrive on credit where it's due, seeing my work come to fruition and generally knowing that I'm a contributing factor to my teams victory.

  • From my forum browsing, playing, chatting with most people I'm nearly certain that my flavor of eve is Neapolitan. But my current skill set shows me as more vanilla. What I mean by that is I'm still in the foundations of making any real specialized path, but I think I would find myself doing (in order of time doing said things) Industry/Mining/PI with light sprinklings of missions/ratting/pvp (everyone likes to blow things up from time to time). It's not exactly min/maxing my character but it's what I think looks fun. Also, yes I realize it's a bit of a rocky road cross training but I'm okay with that (had to get that last ice cream pun in there, shut up, you smirked... Or you have bad taste, which you've just realized. You're welcome).

  • I don't easily jump into any guild/corp/whatever because once I commit to a group of people I generally stay until the end. I've been in the MMO scene since 1999 (Everquest) and I've learned one real lesson; you keep playing a game not because of what the game is, you keep playing the game because of the people you play with and the united goals you share. For instance, I played Everquest for seven years and was in the same guild for the lions share of that time. I only quit because the common consensus between my guildmates was that the game was no longer for them (sad face). Basically what I'm saying here is you shouldn't expect me wave your banner around unless you do some convincing, you also shouldn't expect me to make a snap decision about it.

What I'm looking For

  • I'm looking for a corp that is active. So far I've only been able to find corps that have 5-8 players on at any given time. I would prefer that number to be closer to 12-20. More the better, but I'm by no means looking to join some corp that will take anyone with 2 ears and a nose... and their dog.

  • I'm looking for a corp that has regular night owls. I'm on the west coast and tend to play at very sporadic hours. I'm not saying I'm not fairly regular in my playtime, but I still want people to chill with when I'm on later.

  • I'm still fairly new, I'm wanting a few helpful people to be able to stomach some seemingly noob questions. I'm not one of those people in Rookie Help that couldn't find their pie hole from their autopilot button; I won't ask extremely stupid questions. But I still may seek guidance about more obscure topics.

  • I'm looking to be actively involved in goals (short and long term). I may be interested in mining but I don't want to just chew rocks all day and have no idea what my minerals are being used for. I may be interested in industry but I don't want to just make ammo and not know what's being blown up with it. Basically I just want to be involved. I don't want to be Miner#3939b that nobody ever talks to

  • An extension of the above bullet, but I want to be in a corp that takes the time to involve me. "Hey Lock, we're going to chew some rocks to make some _____ for our alliance's war efforts in ______, want to come with?" is something I would like to see. As much as I enjoy doing my own thing, I prefer to be involved in a community/communal effort. If I don't have to force myself into that role it feels more natural and it's extremely likely I'll be sticking around

Conclusion

You could say that I'm loyal and a pretty chill guy. At the same time I'm very dedicated when I decide to be and I usually do more than my share of any goal I'm involved in. I'm looking for a corp that can sell itself to me, one that will feel right to me based on the outline above. I'm absolutely not looking for a corp which sends me a one liner like you'd see on a Craigslist casual encounter email from a fat 50 year old post office worker.

Basically you should see value in me joining your corp. I want to know about your corp. I want to know how it fits my outline. I want to know how I would fit in. Basically sell yourself to me if you think I would be a good fit. If it turns out you're right, you might just have a lifetime member.

Also, Creamsicle Swirl.

We are not big, and do not have the members you are looking for, however Being a small corp means you should get a great feeling of contribution. If you are interested shoot me an eve mail or you can join "IGONE Public" in game.

This is stupid, clearly you didn't even read my post. Please read my post D:

Hey, just finished reading your well organize post. And I must say that I'm impressed on what you have done so far. If you would like, you can join our corporation. It is small at the moment but we are currently looking for more players. We do both pvp and industry. We are moving to null sec pretty soon and join an alliance. Our goal is to carve the name of our corp in the eve history. In my experience, I would say that everyone is important and can make a difference. If you want to hear more about us, just mail us or convo me. We are based in North America.
