Hello all, brand new to Eve, as in brand new I just downloaded the game last night and have never played before :) Anyways, I am pretty much loving the game so far, and am pretty sure that I will be upgrading to a paid account in the near future. I am currently using a Trial account to play the game.

My question is that I see on the Buddy accounts thread people offering Ilk and the like if you subscribe using a buddy account link they send you. I also saw someone mention that you cannot upgrade a trial account to a buddy account. So if I wanted to take advantage of a buddy account, does that mean I need to start entirely from scratch? Do I delete my character or something along those lines? Can I create a new character using my same email address with the buddy account link (and is there a certain amount of time I have to wait after deleting a character to create a new one?).

So far I feel like I'm getting a good feel for the game with all the great tutorials, but the buddy account system has left me scratching my head! Thanks very much in advance for any responses.

If you wish to use a buddy-program trial account, you will have to create a new account, There is no way you can upgrade an existing trial account into another type of trial.

Whether you want to delete your old account, and start from scratch is up to you. Do you want to get some extra free days, and save some money, or do you want to keep your character?

There is no limit to how many accounts can be registrered to one person. You can, however, only play with 1 trial account at the time on the same computer
