Been using Microsoft's Sidewinder X8 for a while now, definitely my favourite mouse so far.

Logitech G500.

You can customize every single button for every game you got. Its very precise and the price is more than acceptable.
Also, i haven't had any problem with my hand, even after playing 14 hours+ on some days.

I'm very happy with my Logitech G5 - I prefer a relatively heavy mouse and after some experimenting with the weights it feels "just right" in my hand (using 21.4g in the caddy with the left of the mouse heavier than the right)

I gave my brother's Razer Naga a try before buying the Logitech and while I can see why some people like such a lightweight mouse it didn't work for me at all.

My recommendation is that you should give at least one Logitech (or Microsoft) and one Razer a hands-on try to see which style of mouse you prefer in general before making any further decisions.

I play on my couch using a projector so a Logitech trackball sits on the right arm rest and a Logitech G13 sits on the left. I love my G13 with 3 banks of 22 keys along with a joystick and 2 more buttons I only grab a keyboard for the chat window. I use the first bank for non-combat functions, like opening windows. The second bank for combat, and the third as a num pad for market purposes. I highly recommend it, and also hear good things about the Razer Nostromo which I also considered buying.

I use this thing. Takes a bit of getting used to but it's amazingly comfortable, and now my wrist doesn't hurt :)

That's very close to my current setup with a microsoft trackball explorer 2 and a nostromo n-52. The 30-40 programable buttons on the nostromo is great for...well just about anything. Out of curiosity, what do you use the joystick for? I would think it would be difficult for right handers to use a joysick with the left hand.

Stick with the T-ball, man, just upgrade to a Kensington Expert Mouse. I no kidding just bought my second one today, because the one I got in 2006 is looking a little well-worn. Still works perfectly, however. Built like a tank,

The oversize ball gives you better precision and control than any gaming mouse ever could, reguardless of weights or gyros or other gimmicky bells and whistles. Coupled with no need to reset it ever (as you know, being a trackball user yourself) and how much easier on your shoulder during lengthy gaming sessions T-balls are, it's an easy choice.

It's 100 bucks, and a bargain at twice the price.

Why have I never seen this?!? Looks pretty good, I'll have to stop by a store in the area and see if they got one on the shelf to try it out. How does it hold up to market order updating...I'm talking about a lot of updating...heh

razore = great (if it works!)
r.a.t. = great for customizing
trackball = I'm a fan anyway, if I can find a model I likes....I'll gets
microsoft = not much info yet, but no haters yet either
speedy gonzales and the others = +1 for the lawls

Like I said; it's built like a tank. I've been using mine extensively for 6 years, during which it would often bear the brunt of my frustration during a latency spike or stunlock (hate to admit it, but most of its miles were accrued on WoW). The finish is wearing off the lower left button, and the little spaces between the rubber fins on the scroll wheel that rings the ball have filled with crud, but functionally it is as flawless as the day it left the box.

Clean up is a breeze; tip it over and let the ball drop into your palm (teehee), then just wipe the gunk out of the vacated cavity or give the whole mouse a good hardy tap or two while inverted. I've dropped the ball (no pun etc.) from desk height - usually onto carpet, but sometimes it would land hard on a metal bar that was part of my monitor's stand - and it never chipped or broke. Comes with a rubber wrist-support thingamajig that I hated and stashed somewhere, never to be seen again.

Sad to say, local stores probably won't have one for futzing with; I had to drive 35 minutes to a Fry's to get one, because Best Buy/Target/Walmart don't carry it. You've never seen it before because it's rare. A few years ago when my brother was shopping for one, they were only available online. When I got my first one six years ago, it was the last one in a doomed Circuit City, hidden among piles of flashy-but-trashy "gaming" mice like some precious jewel peeking through so much sand amidst the collapsing ruins of an ancient temple. The Fry's I went to today only had 3. Now they have 2.

My best guess is that Kensington simply put all their would-be marketing budget into making a singularly functional product, and wound up with a spectacular trackball.... that nobody knows about. Another reason to have faith in it, and to be wary of shiny mice with diodes and fancy boxes. That money could have gone into R&D, but a lot of companies decide it's easier just to sell, sell, SELL a half-baked product.

BE WARNED, especially if you're not the OP and are thinking of giving the Kensington Expert Mouse a try with no prior trackball experience; trackballs take getting used to after years on a mouse; DOUBLY so for this one with its unusually large ball. Don't give up on it because you toyed with it for 5 minutes and didn't like the feel.
