I thought I was supposed to get a kill mail?

If they killed you, this is what a "kill mail" is:

Go to your character sheet, and select Combat Log. In the top menu, select "Show Losses". You can doubleclick on the loss to get a display of the lossmail.

Found it! Thank you very much.

I also found this.

He has a Ashimmu, 233 lifetime kills, and 25,735,140 skill points.

How do I get back at him?

Have you tried hurting his feelings?

I could get to know him, date him, get married, and then tell him that I never loved him and the son we've raised for the last 18 years is really his brother's.

But I'd rather just blow up his spaceship.

25 million is a very rough approximation by Battleclinic of his skillpoints, and is unlikely to be accurate. It estimates I have 45 million SP, but I only truly have 31 million.

I would put away thoughts of immediate revenge, unless you have the ISK to hire some more advanced players to gank him. People who use uber-expensive ships like the Ashimmu to pick on newbies typically run away from any fight where they are in any serious threat. It takes quite a bit of planning and cunning to catch a ship like that, and in some instances it's even impossible unless he screws up. That is all not even taking into consideration the fact you've been playing for less than a month.

Join a corp that will teach you how to PvP, and go on with your life, but note his name in your little black book. What goes around comes around, and you may get your chance to get back at him later.

While we're on the topic of flying better, some unasked-for advice:

  • Always use all the slots on your ship. The Coercer has 8 high slots with 8 turret hardpoints, so you should fit 8 guns on it.
  • Fit a damage control because it's awesome. Here's why in more detail.
  • Lowsec can be rather dangerous, and I can rant on and on about how to be safe, but mostly: join a corp that knows what it's doing, and ask them to teach you.

Cheers!

I appreciate the advice. As I have neither money nor experience nor skill, I guess it will be awhile before I can even think of getting back at him. It sucks to be a minnow in an ocean of sharks. Ugh

That minnow can be damned dangerous. Yesterday a couple of newbies who are only a couple months old (if that) played a crucial role in my corp bagging a 3 billion ISK Tengu kill. You're not useless, or too weak. You just need to find your place.

1- you have 1 month of kill rights (you can check it on character sheet)
2- use a locator agent so find the area were he is
3- kill him
4- troll him and post that stuff in forums
5- profit (the lol's you get)

His sec status is -9.something, If you see him in high sec, kill rights won't be necessary. Just clarifying.

To the OP: Just my opinion but I wouldn't waste my time going after him specifically. I do recommend joining a pvp corp however and learning how to fight. Best part of the game.

Well, he runs a cruiser bonused specifically to energy turrets, operates solo in a fairly specific region, and picks on newbies without his own backup.

My advice would be find him in the relevant region, set up a bait ship that's heavily overtanked to EM/Thermal, and pretend to kill rats or something while making occasional comments about how hard it is to get these belt rats down in local. Have 3 or 4 folks in stealth bombers with tracking disruptors floating nearby waiting for him to take the bait, even in a newbie corporation you should have plenty of buddies that can throw a low-sec SB of one kind or another together.

For overkill, have like 8 or 9 SB buddies and make sure they're not in your corp so the guy can't put 2 and 2 together before he's floating in his pod.

(Speaking of, I'd advise not going for his pod, not worth the sec status hit just to add insult to the injury of losing a ship that expensive.)

Those are actually pretty crappy combat skills for a 27 mil SP character. It doesn't really make ganking him easier since it really depends on only whether you can get him into a fight he can lose, but there you have it.

love this idea. Do it and post the outcome in GD, makes him even more ashamed as it will show how new player killed him using right tactics.
