A warning to all the dudes taking girlfriends to the moviez...

We all like to take our "so" to the movies every now and then. But gurlz being gurlz, at some point they will complain that all we wanna see is war and gunz and stuff (of curse we do!). So, sometimes we say "you can pick the movie tonight hon"...

In the past I've advised against this practice. Many lost their mancards during "Titanic" and "Sex & The City II". But what comes this summer is far worst. Don't even google it... just remember: *Do Not* offer your girl to choose the movie until "Magic Mike" is out of the theaters. It's a trap!

Steven Soderbergh directed it - can't be that bad, besides, nothing wrong with chick flick once in a while, so long as the characters are good and the story doesn't suck.

I draw the line at romantic comedies, as they typically are the worst kind of drug, that put me in a hospital for a month of rehab.

Oh, the night shivers are the worst, the absolute worst, drenched in cold sweat and muttering poorly constructed lines of dialogue with 2 dimensional characters whose only reason for existing is to pull on my heart strings with industrial-sized pliers.

Not even Schwarzenegger and a 100+ 1980's bodycount can bring back from that ordeal.

Get out of my head romcom!

You only exist so women can watch a film that has some degree of fantasy ending where the girl gets the guy or vice versa and then gets married either in an elaborate scene that finalizes the film, or just before the credit sequence at the end when I've already turned my phone back on and am mentally fighting traffic or figuring our the best way home without going through low-sec, and then turn my mind to whether I'm getting head tonight...

I do wonder...are women doing the same thing when they are taken to go and see 'macho blood bath VII' with their nearest and dearest?

I disagree completely.

Offer to watch any movie, even that one, as long as she ties you up nude to a chair.

This is how carriers of a working mancard word this sentence.

Not quite sure what type of forgery you have there, and don´t really want to know. P

Taking a girl to the movies is soo cliche now days, why not just go to a fine dining place and have a couple of glasses of wine and fruit? End it with 1 scoop of ice cream, and pick a flower for her your way to her car. And remember BE A GENTLEMAN! Pull her chair out before she sits, offer her to take her jacket off for her, ALWAYS feed her the last scoop of ice cream, also look at her lips while feeding it to her, and give her an intense look into her eyes, as if you just spotted a nebula in them..

Chick flicks ...... get a real woman.

You see when you are dealing with these "trendy" women who read those magazines that are supposed to teach them how to have their hair cut and what they are supposed to want in a man, you will end up watching "chick flicks" because the people who own those magazines are the same people who invest in those movies.

Get a real woman who is not into that crap yet still looks and acts like one and you won't have this problem.

My GF comes back from court today defending a friend of mine who is involved in a politically motivated criminal case and she puts on Rambo because, as she said, she wants to see people get shot after having to put up with this crap.

Then she drinks my homemade beer and passes out - and I get to go play with my computer.

(I know what I'm doing)

And she's a pinup girl too. Go figure. Sometimes I think all of this is just a sexual fantasy and I'm going to wake up in a puddle.

Bring back DEEEEP Space!

This^^

To many "posers" trying to be what holywierd and fashion industry tell them what a woman is supposed to be. My wife is what a woman is supposed to be: a loving spouse/mother of my children and strong willed.

She use to be one of the "empowered women of the 90's." She found out after our daughter turned 4, that she was missing out on more important things and was chasing what "society" told her how to be.

For that, my wife HATES... Wait, that's not a strong enough word for it... has an utter DISDAIN that creates in her a desire to kick puppies and burn orphanages b/c of stupid movies like "The Notebook and Sex & the City."

She is what she feels supposed to be, herself, that's greatIdea

Every woman should find herself in her own way...I do see a lot of girls and women are 'trendy' but so are a lot of guys . It's a lot of comparing yourself with the 'rest' to fit in I guess. For example in EVE most guys copy each other's behaviour too, it's everywhere. The few other women I met sometimes even went 'undercover' to just fit in .... anyway, ontopic again...a good drama or adventure maybe?

Think "What Dreams May Come" with Robin Williams or "The Da Vinci Code"

Doesnt always have to be either a chick-flick ("Thats so for girls /puke") or an action movie ("Why do guys watch this, eww? -.-" )
